The root filesystem is readonly and upgrading through apt is not supported. System updates are image based.
What are you trying to achieve exactly?

I want to install SSH to logg into my laptop to my phone to tranfers files to my phone
-
SSH is already installed. You just need to start it (you can run
sudo start ssh
on the Pinephone), and copy your public key into the~/.ssh/authorized_keys
file (as password auth is disabled on the phones for security). -
UT TweakTool in the OpenStore has settings for SSH I think.
-
thanks very much
-
I did start SSH
I also did copied the public key into ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file
It keeps saying Permission Denied -
Maybe bear in mind, I am trying this with Ubuntu from Windows

@jesica I found these instructions from Pine64 to be an easy set up
https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=10165EDIT: But I've just re-read them; may only be effective in dev channel, not sure.

@jesica This link describes how to use SSH under UT.
-
Hi, @nogoogle
Sorry, I couldn't find a link in your post, which one are you referring to ? -
@applee Interesting, I did not post anything on the forum within the past 3 weeks, so I am not sure where this post of mine time-stamped as "a day ago" came from ??
Nevertheless the link I would refer to is this one
http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/advanceduse/ssh.html?highlight=ssh
Hope this helps @jesica but I still don't understand how I would have posted a reply to her less than 24h ago.....
