      @dobey It does I believe but things are a little confusing. I've read it was never enabled through firmware and on Ubuntu Touch at least when you place a call it switches off of LTE. If I type the imei number in metro or T-Mobile it will say it doesn't support VoLTE so they won't activate it.

        @dobey said in Daily driver?:

        Qt doesn't care what the kernel version is.

        Thanks Dobey.
        My bad I thought it had something to do with the old kernel but I probably mixed up topics.

          @AppLee thanks for that, turns out this phone i installed ubports on shortly the OP3T support came out and then put away I hadn't updated it since.

          the updated device has made a world of difference 😊 😊

              Hi im curious how many of you are using ubports as your main OS. I'm thinking about fully switching over, I currently have a nexus 5 with ubports. Anyone else use it as a main OS, and which phone?

              I have been using opo 1 as my daily driver since Feb 2020.There are some bugs to get used to, but using Ubuntu Touch instead of android or ios has definitely been worth it.

                I need a video chat, telephony application. perhaps web.skype or similar. webrtc with video funćtionality might do. my life partner lives far away and we don't have many opportunities to meet at this time. So this is vital for me to have ubuntu touch as my daily driver.

                  There is no video chat app on Ubuntu Touch so far.
                  But Telegram just released a beta version for this feature, so there is hope that it will reach Teleports one day.
                  But it will need serious work to make it possible.

                    @marlboro50 Indeed, as AppLee mentionned, a hudge work is needed to implement that feature on Telegram. Btw, Florian is working on the possibility to send voice messages in Teleports, this might be released in a future update. I guess a further step (quite much later) would be to activate voice calls in Teleports.
                    There's also Linphone that enables VoIP calls. You can check this app in the OpenStore.

                        Firmwares are not made by ubports, nor canonical in the passed days.
                        OS is what they make and you're talking about ☺
