OTA-2 complete?
-
@hans1977se Same here well done. New browser will now have a good look around. And the latest dekko 2 update fixed sending issue. All in all a good weekend for all concernd
-
Looks good for now. Some of my issues, like the notification LED not working on the Nexus 5, are fixed. That was really annoying. Also not working uTorch doesn't matter anymore because of the flashlight switch under the battery indicator. Very nice solution.

I agree, but it's a bit odd that it is put under battery tab i think. I think it would have made more sense to rename the Rotation tab to Shortcuts or Toggles and put it there.

I could add that for the Nexus 4 fresh install i used "sudo ubuntu-device-flash --server=http://system-image.ubports.com touch --device=mako --channel=15.04/stable --bootstrap" instead of the command on the ubports website to install from the stable channel instead of the development channel.
-
@RandomUser Just found it. Brilliant really useful for me.
-
@RandomUser sorry I'm using indicator tourch from the app store. Thats working now. Is that what you mean
-
@RandomUser Just found what your on about. Try installing indicator torch from the open store. Makes it a little easier to use. It just sits in the top panel ready and waiting.
-
@Lakota Why would I install an extra torch indicator when it's right there in the battery indicator? How much easier does it need to get?
-
@RandomUser Already had it installed before the update as a trial, but it didn't work then does now. Suppose it depends how lazy you feel.
-
for some unknown reason, i can't see those 2 new features that came with ota 2
Display changelogs for stable OTA updates
Flashlight toggle in the battery indicator
or should i change any settings to get those 2 working?
Regards,
-
@bq4.5 The flashlight can be found by pulling down the notification draw under the battery icon at the top of the display.
-
I have charge level, adjust brightness and battery settings, nothing related to torch indicator.
-
I updated my two devices yesterday and it all went smooth, no issues in the upgrade at all. So far looks good, with the new browser and Dekko 2 working nice and smooth.
For me thought, I did have to manually force the updates to download, even though I had my updates to automatically download when on wi-fi.
On boot up though my M10 shows the UBPorts robot with the scrolling dots and my E5 shows Ubuntu Touch on boot up with the scrolling dots. Strange, as I thought that they would have both shown the same thing.
-
@bq4.5 I'm using a nexus 5 and its there. Will check my Bq 5 later. Its also not on the M10 I've noticed. Will the Indicate Torch from the Open App store work on your device, if you need one.
-
@bq4.5 No its not there. Must be to do with older legacy devices ?
-
@UKPhil It will need two updates to appear on your device, on the first update the old recovery installs the new recovery, on the second update you will start seeing the robot
BR
-
@Flohack Sorry, I do not fully understand what you are telling me here. Two updates on my E5 before I see the robot?
-
@UKPhil Yes. So after the next OTA you will see the robot on both devices. If a user skips OTA-2 he will see the robot in OTA-4 the first time
BR
-
@bq4.5 Yeah, me too!
I have an BQ E5 and those two features, flashlight indicator and OTA changelogs, are missing with the OTA-2 update.I thought maybe I didn't look in the right places for the changelogs but the flashlight should be there when I pull down the battery indicator but it is not.
Did the E5 not get those two or is this an error? -
Thanks to all for this new version, i'm happy to see a new update available on my pro5 Great work!
