Lately I keep receiving unwanted foreign calls. There does not seem to be a default option in UT. I have read several historic threads mentioning the need for a feature to block/unblock calls but as it seems there's no way yet to block calls.

Is there any (free) option available at all? Can we expect a feature in the coming releases?

@3t_ed Nothing free to my knowledge.

Thank you for your reply. I would have thought this - or similar application - would have found its way to the Open Store by now as this option is of extreme added value to the dialer phone application.

For newcomers to UT it can be seen as a risk to install such apps on their devices, outside the Open Store, not being a confined app. Moreover, to newcomers it can (re)confirm that in order to get a complete set of 'essential' apps (I know that is subjective) one is still depending on third parties.

I do think that there's nothing wrong with paid apps as long as there's some kind of trust. Why not have this app in the Open Store as an add-on?

@3t_ed If it is the same caller each time my solution is to add him to my Contacts list with an "unsavoury" name. When he calls it is easy for me to see who it is and dismiss him. The caller gives up after a few days.

Thanks, will do. The foreign/unknown caller is from the UK so I doubt they'll give up soon πŸ˜‰

Solution would be a blacklist in the call app, where number are stored by user, and call app filters calls with it.

@keneda Call app does not help, the phone would still start ringing. You need to catch this in a lower stack part, since the phone should stay silent during a blocked call right?
