Title says all,
How do I install .click (clickable) packages outside of the OpenStore on Ubuntu Touch? I had someone suggest to me a cool package that they were not able to get into the Openstore yet, and I wanted to download it.How would I go about doing this? I cannot seem to find any information that is recent on the subject matter.

@nocturn-adrift If the .click is suitable for UT just move the app onto your device using a USB connection or such, then tap on it and a number of install options should come up including the OpenStore.

@lakotaubp So it is sort of like an Android .apk?

@nocturn-adrift Yes, curious reader of the thread in the future. It is like an .apk. The only difference being that you install it through the Openstore.
To be more explicit, say you come across a website and you install a file with
.click
at the end of it. You simply download the package, then navigate to the package with a file manager, click on the.click
package, and then chooseOpenstore
as the install option. This is what @Lakotaubp was saying to you.You can either download the
.click
package directly on you device using its web browser, or use a PC to download the file. Keep in mind, if you do download the file on the PC, you will obviously have to connect a USB cable and move the file onto your UT mobile device to start the install process. -
alternately, you can install clicks with ut tweak tool (try this if on pinephone) or from commandline
pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted
add the package name at the end make sure you are in the folder the package is in -
