Focal testing for ut-tweak-tool:

I have done a quick/dirty port of ut-tweak-tool to focal:

The first pipeline has artifacts for download, within those are the clicks.

Work included:

• rename gsettings items, most now use "lomiri"

Needs testing or rewriting

• scaling is commented out, as i think it needs to be rewritten to systemd?
• other items might need work
• restarting lomiri?

does not work:

• removing packages (is using qprocess and pkcon) rewrite to use click to remove packages? or is qprocess problem?

If you are getting a pluseaudio error for the individual sliders and have no sound on focal in general, try:

sudo ubports-qa install focal_-_PR_pulseaudio-module-droid-discover_4

then reboot, I guess this is a current bug sometimes, soon to have a fix.

I rather like the filemanager, but would like to see it move away from the old humanity icon set, and even the orange folder theme. I like the more modern style that sam hewitt https://snwh.org/suru has made, although for the purposes of ubuntu touch we could modify the color away from orange.

@capsia well, the code is there for multi user, just not enabled yet, so we do want to be careful to theme/move existing things. eventually we will need some way of making a fake extra account to test.

@007fred50 you are not doing anything to hide source of the apps - so your claim that it does not give the source is not true.
any click installed from there with qml will be visible on the system.

For what it is worth - you can already use compiled qt and the 'proprietary' licence on the openstore - therefore you do not have to reveal code for any confined app.

to really hide source you would have to use compiled qt.

as for a alternate store, I think the idea is a good one - putting a restriction on not allowing other stores would have been an eairly end for the openstore back in Canonical days. But perhaps we should update the warning on installing from third party.

Some cool new apps to check out! Here are some open source apps that landed in the store recently - help test, translate, and improve.

• Radio by Patrick Fial, working with media hub search and play internet radio streams.

• MiTubo by Alberto Mardegan, native playback of internet video streams, this app uses youtube-dl and will play video with gstreamer.

• Scooter by Patrick Fial, Show scooter locations from Bird and unlock with QR code.

so, interesting, if we get rid of the box background completely, error text is not really visible. It is looking good replacing the text with white to match. here are screens, one no background, one with .3 opacity

@kugiigi won't see it like that in recovery i think, will be in the data partition? and have to mount it i guess in recovery ( I'm not sure recovery's adb will work for devloping via clickable)

since adb is not working maybe try ssh?

or have you enabled developer mode in system settings -> about ?

are the packages shipped with the click, or on the device - if installed on the root of the device maybe the click would need to be unconfined?

click list
to see what clicks are installed

then
sudo click unregister notes.ubports

@noelflantier they do have the same version number in the store, perhaps that is a bug that it does not differentiate the two on upgrade

@gandalf I think the old version should still work for app managment, just that all the gsettings were renamed due to the lomiri name change, so things like the battery percentage, theme switch, launcher size, ect.

@lakotaubp needs testing, but i'm afraid some of the more advanced features might need rewrite. but suspending apps and many of the settings options for the launcher or indicators as well as theme selection should work
