I'd love to see a client for ubuntu phone.
On my laptop i can see information(battery, sms, incoming calls or messages) from my android device.
Also file transfer over wifi is simple.

Can you please tell more about this KDE app? Thanks

Nop, there are a lot of videos on youtube.
You need to install the program on your device(phone&pc).
On the desktop pc you get a icon in the status bar. Here you can open the folder structer from the phone or you can see battery status.
Is there a incoming call you see a pop up on the desktop. If you don't find your device, you can start a "ping"
After that your mobile phone is making beep beep beep -
@guru KDEconnect is an extremely cool app to bridge all your devices. Here is the github repo and KDE community wiki entry. In just a few words:
- Link your PCs, Smartphones, Laptops via Wifi or Bluetooth
- Share content (send files, share clipboard) encrypted and with nautilus (filemanager) support
- Some nifty features for the smartphone:
- Find my phone (click on desktop and phone will ring)
- See notifcations, take calls, answer on messager on desktop
- Send CLI commands/touchscreen/keyboard events to desktop
- See phone status (battery) on desktop
Sorry for redundancy, Stefan already mentioned a few of these, i'm just a big fan of this app and would love to see it on UT

@demokrit: Your description is much better, thanks for this...

Yeah! KDE Connect i very useful - Perfect when we can't connect our phone to an external monitor.
-
Someone could try to apt install it. It can be paired from the command line
-
Does KDE Connect (pc version) support ARM then...??
-
@SweDennis As I understand the Wiki, there is some KDE plasma application to be installed or compiled from sources (as I do in FreeBSD) and some app for Android on arm and some protocol between the two.
-
apt install DOES offer it so I guess it has at least been COMPILED for arm. It wants to pull in some 250 mb of dependencies though
I didn't try that. Would have to make some space for it first. -
good idea to check apt. it's not normal in my android life to install with apt

i will try to install this at the weekend and try to pair the device with my desktop

@einstein212
Hi. Have you been able to connect your phone with kdeconnect?I would like to try, but apt-get wants to install alot of kde packages.
No problem if it works. -
@vehi_mv I don't try to install because of the same reason you write
sorry i don't know if it works or not. -
There is a new version for this for SailfishOS:
https://openrepos.net/content/r1tschy/sailfish-connect
https://github.com/R1tschY/harbour-sailfishconnectI hope this can be ported?
-
Has there been any update on this? I do not see the KDE connect software in the OpenStore
-
KDE Connect is a multi-platform application developed by KDE, which facilitates wireless communications and data transfer between devices over local networks. KDE Connect is available in the repositories of many Linux Distributions and F-Droid, Google Play Store for Android
