WayDroid, what Android apps work well for you ?
-
@bruswilis I would reccomend the aurora store from fdroid instead. ApkPure has had serious security issues in the past.

After being unable to use Muun Wallet due to a Google Play Services dependency, Ive installed BlueWallet and its working fine on the Bitcoin Lightning network and launchable directly from a Ubuntu Touch toolbar button.
So I just wanted to confirm Ubuntu Touch users have the ability to connect to Bitcoin Lightning, Software, and Hardware wallets. Which is a big step forward in usability for me.
For anyone not familiar Lightning allows small retail purchases using Bitcoin at near-zero fees, in a similar way to using GooglePay or PayPal.
Thanks to everyone involved in WayDroid.

Add aTox (Tox messaging client) as tested and working on Waydroid - Redmi Note 9 Pro.

@treebeard Several Android apps updated a few days ago and I'm happy to say that:
-
Starling banking app - Now fully working and usable
-
Swissborg crypto app - Now working up to wallet recovery. I haven't checked any further yet
-
NHS app - Able to log on now, after which a blank page is displayed.

@libremax I installed Waydroid through Waydroid helper, but sadly after install and rebooting it wouldnt launch. I am on the Sony Xperia X (F5122). But I am happy that others have apps working already.
I am excited to hear from others what else works under waydroid. -

Xperia X is Halium 7.1; Waydroid requires Halium 9 or up.

@kazord Sorry, but I'm not sure to follow how a native app is related to waydroid?

@treebeard The latest version of the 'Hive' (Centrica British Gas home controller) app is working now on OTA-22 on my Volla.
-
I'm using Pixel 3a
Apps that work:
- Aurora Store
- F-Droid
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (a little bit slow)
- Mi Home
- Smart Life - Smart Living
- Private Location
Running with problem
- Shopee Indonesia : apps working but can't login because I can't type non alphanumeric in password field, can't copy paste either. Tried login by phone number but can't slide the captcha image.
- Garena AOV : apps running but cropped a few pixels on left & right screen, only black portion showed on left & right, but still responding to touch where there are supposed to be a button on the cropped part
Not working
- Firefox Browser : cant browse anything
-
@treebeard The latest version of the UK NHS (prescription ordering and medical records) app is now working on my Volla phone. Previously it would display a blank white page after logging in. It still does that but after 30 seconds it displays the page correctly and is usable so possibly it was already working in previous versions and I was being too hasty.
i compared this with the app behaviour on 'real' Android, and the same page is blank for around 10 seconds before displaying, so there's a bit of a design failing in the app not giving feedback while it retrieves user data, combined with this being quite a slow process in Waydroid, which is odd as Waydroid is generally very responsive on my Volla.
That's all my 'essential' apps now working well. Thanks again to the Waydroid Devs.
