Where did all the phone options go?
-
Probably not a major issue but I just noticed after upgrading my Volla Phone X to OTA22 it forgot it was a phone. No signal icon in the indicators, the settings page hod no option for mobile and when the phone app was started it reported no signal. Pulled down the indicators and selected network to see the options flight mode and WiFi only.
Tried restart, no change.
Powered off and started up again and back to normal (phew!).
Anyone else seeing this or was it just a random glitch?

No, I have had this with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Redmi 7 and another phone I think it was a Xiaomi Mi 2. Restart did not resolve and had to do an install using the installer without wiping data.

@mrt10001 Did you try a power off and turn back on or just the restart?
-
@ian Ye, unfortunately it didn't work for me. I reinstalled with the installer, but I remember now, I also changed update channel from stable to release.

I've also noticed that flight mode has changed. In OTA22 it just turns the phone off and on. In previous releases it also did the same for wifi and bluetooth.
Was this intentional?
If it was then will UT devices be allowed on flights if flight mode does not cut all radio transmissions?

Has anyone reported this as a bug at all https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/contribute/bugreporting.html?pk_vid=fcff7b080b92986e164536902799ecb7 if it can't be fixed by a restart?
-
@lakotaubp Performing a shutdown followed by turning back on turned my tablet back into a phablet. So not a major issue, just plain weird and I wondered if anyone else had seen this.
The flight mode thing is not cured by shutdown restart. Can anyone else confirm this issue before escalation?

Flight mode is no longuer mandatory in planes, in EU at least, since 2014.
Any plane is by design protected against radioelectrical interferencies.
Compagnies still can force flight mide, but most of them prefer to sell network services to passengers (plane connected by satelites, phone connected to plane).Anyway, you can shut device off, this is pure flightmode ^^

I can confirm that on my MX4, flight mode shuts cellular, wifi, and BT down.

Opened issue #1943 for flight mode issue.
