Is this new feature intentional?
-
I have a Volla Phone X and since updating to OTA 22, which enablea the fingerprint reader on my phone for the first time (thanks guys), I have noticed a new feature. When you have the browser open and touch the fingerprint reader the row of icons at the top of the screen toggles off and on. You can put the browser in full screen mode. It doesn't appear to work for any other window, just the browser (morph).
Is this intentional or acidental? Does it happen on other devices with a working fingerprint reader?
-
It does have a use. If you are watching a video in full screen through morph or in media player you can use it to access the top bar to see what the time is or what your new notification is.

Can you clarify what's happening please ? Screenshots ? On the Volla it seems i don't see such 'strange' thing.
-
@domubpkm The best way I can explain it is to ask you to open morph and look at your display. At the top of the screen you should see the icons for network, sound, battery etc. If I then touch my fingerprint reader this row of icons dissapears and morph fills the entire screen, showing a little more at the bottom of the screen.
I have a couple of screenshots but I have no idea how to upload them. I tried the photo icon and edited the resultant url but even in preview mode I saw nothing.

@ian
That's this icon you have to use in order to upload your device images/screenshot :And you don't need to do anything to any url.

@ian You are right, i confirm. I have the same 'feature' on the Volla. Double or single tap on the sensor to activate and double or single tap to deactivate. I don't know if this is an intentional feature or a bug
Feature or bug ? full screen
Without the 'feature'
-
@domubpkm It is good to know that it's not just me!
Anyone else seeing this feature?
-
Same thing with Sapot browser.
-
@domubpkm Thanks for posting the screenshots you asked for. I could not find a way to post them as I am still fairly new to the forum.
If you have a bit of spare time please email the details of how to upload images. My email is in my profile.
Or put the details here. Others may benefit!

- In the icon bar
- Choose this icon
- And select one or several pictures in gallery or using file manager
A/the picture(s) are uploaded : you must see the upload progression.
- In the icon bar
-
@domubpkm Thanks. I will give that a go.
When I select the picture icon I get
![alt text](image url)
with no option to select an image. I'm obviously doing something wrong, but what?
-
@ian I don't know ! Is it a Volla X bug ?
If i understand you, you can't access the gallery or file manager ?
Check this :
- Close the browser and try again ;
- If you can't upload again, reboot the Volla X and try again...
-
@domubpkm Thanks. I'll investigate tomorrow as I am off out now for the evening.

I think I've read about this before so maybe it is intentional. It is a bit weird to me though. Not sure how useful it can be. I'd rather maybe just open the indicator panel instead

Or app drawer/launcher like on MX4 (and Pro5 i guess) with the touch button.
I use this all the time to open those. -
In Sapot Browser there is too a very nice feature unguessable too
reload function
-
@domubpkm
You can reload in morph too.
Touch the address field, then it highligts/select the website address, plud it changes the icon in front of it to a relaod icon. -
@keneda Of course and although usable, I never found the morph solution, that exist too in Sapot, very practical. It is good to have the alternative Sapot solution.
-
@domubpkm I have started another thread about not being able to upload photos.
I'll leave this thread going to see if anyone can confirm/deny that this feature is intentional and what it was meant to do.
Thanks for you help. I'm just glad I was trying the right things and they just wouldn't work for me!

As a side note: I just noticed that a double tap on the fingerprint sensor wakes up the black screen.
