Workshops at Locations

Hey! I'd like to come and meet you all but I'm 600 kms away... Why are you all german? LOL. If it was closer to France, I would come but Mรปnchen is very far for me
-
@revoltevidente Then try to organize one at your location
EDIT: BTW I am also sad not to be able to meet everyone. I thought about going to the FOSDEM but well....
Maybe at another event which suits many? -
I also thought about or anouncing it on Meetup. Anyone against the idea?
-
@twinkybot hey folks. I was going to add this to an event page but we don't have times. Can you give us some time parameters or ranges please? The event page requires it. Thanks! Also perhaps ping me on telegram wayneoutthere for faster speed
-
@wayneoutthere Sorry do not have telegramm.
I do not know let's say
10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday
10:00 to 14:00 on Sunday? -

Wow we are two
Hmm let's see. I am sitting in Munich and I could oragnize something but for this I really need someone who does know UT
We could use my office, which has plenty space and I might even be able to organize dinner
Depends if we can announce this in e.g MeetUp.Nice idea! I'd love to join as well.
I think part of this could be hacking sessions. Everybody brings whatever their pet projects are and we push them a little forward helping each other out.
My two pet projects are:
-
In the Munich workshop, what do we have as technical infrastructure? Big screens or beamer with HDMI? Some overhead projector to show the screen of the BQ E4.5 live? Anything else?

@guru yes we have two "big" meeting rooms with big TVs. One bigger room with a projector. An open area with an projector.
And plenty normal monitors if we put them back
Another projector in a cabinet.I have to say also one area which is not open for the public.
And guest wifi. Good Coffee, various bewerages and a lunch.
Let's see if I can throw in a dinner as well -
I'm happy to see ubuntu touch on different devices and may be get my hands on this
My app projects are a mpd client and a sound cloud app. Would be nice to talk about how to start...

Another projector in a cabinet.I was asking more for the interface HMDI because my Acer C720 netbook has only HMDI. And for some projector to capture the device BQ (...) with some kind of cam located on top over the BQ and beam it to the wall while one is manipulating some app to show some nice feature/stuff. Does your office has such stuff?
-
@guru We have HDMI.
But not the cam stuff though. But I am sure we can improvise -
Hi all,
I'm also interested in meeting, no matter what the subject. I'm very frequently in Brussels, and Lisbon, so any place that is near, or has good direct transportation is fine for me.
I want to leave the suggestion of instead of using GetTogether instead of the Meetup.
GetTogether is Free Software, made by Michael Hall (former Canonical employee, former Ubuntu Community Manager, current Community Manager at Endless, and all around nice guy). Besides being Free Software that we can run by ourselves, we can federate it, or just use GetTogether.community service.I believe GetTogether is more aligned with this community goals, and we can benefit both projects.
-
@diogo could you post the url of this get together. It seems I am not able to find it. Thabks.
-
https://gettogether.community/
A search with Michael Hall canonical allow to find his G+ account and then...
-
Announced on get togheter: https://gettogether.community/events/7/meetup-or-coding-get-together/
-
Well the software is still a bit buggy it seems
But yeah. It is out. -
Is there also another alternative for these kind of events?
I noticed you have to pay a recurring fee for meetup -

Spain
Where are you going to be in Spain? This could be a good opportunity to meet with spanish ubports members.
-
So now two points. I heard you @Flohack
But still let's have at least some topics people can look forward toThe other part is where can we announce this also to involve more interested people?
And I am looking forward to it!

@twinkybot I found an easy way to bring the BQ to the UNIX laptop screen to show something live; see the fotos. A small VGA cam is "mounted" into a lamp over the BQ.
