@lakotaubp concerning gmail, they made clear they would drop support for "less secure apps" from may 30 and onwards. Dekko and gmail are a thing of the past.

I've never touched any 20.04 branch for UT, but from Gmail's view, doesn't the "less secure apps" refer to the 16.04 base (selection of supported ciphers etc.)? Shouldn't Dekko on 20.04 appear to Gmail just as an average mail app?

            Not for me neither.

But since I changed my mail provider from Gmail to ik.me, I got no incoming mail notification anymore (even if it's well activated in all settings)...

Not at all, I have two phones and 1 tablet, all receiving emails through Dekko 2.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.... And more...
              I have too many devices...

Looks like something at my end on Pixel 3a and OP5 so setting somewhere with Gmail I guess. OK Thanks all.

Purged with UTTT but something is being left behind. There was a way of removing everything can someone please remind me of it please. After using UTTT and reinstalling after power off the short cut reappears on the luncher so something is remaining and account set up does not complete correctly.

@emphrath That might be the case but just got one through on the OP5. Worth a bit more messing about.

@padu We're not on 20.04 yet. Though the app is not in the OS directly so each email account used in Dekko 2 would need password plus another verification for Google to except it, if I have that right of course.

@emphrath Seems that is correct just took a bit of time to kick in. Using a web app works so dekko would need password and external check to work on Google mail accounts(for those of us that have to have one that is).

Can't say if you're right, because I don't actually have a gmail account myself. I haven't been aware of big G enforcing 2FA now. Though, I've seen gmail support pages explaining how to turn off "2-step-verification".

What triggered my response was the fact that I've seen old, EOS phones having to be finally retired when mail providers tightened their list of accepted ciphers. 20.04 based UT will certainly stretch the live span of some phones (if not for gmail users).
