Welp, took a whole lot of effort, but we did it, couldn't have done it without @TheKit's help
-
-
@thevancedgamer sir, you are a hero.
-
@thevancedgamer I know we must be patient, but.... any news?
-
@fparri Currently i'm working on fixing the kernel, because of it being 3.4 it's ancient enough to cause me so many troubles that sometimes I contemplate on just leaving the port alone. However if you would like to contribute as well then kernel is on github.com/muhammad23012009/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974/tree/halium-9.0-focal (force-pushes are sometimes unevitable )
-
@thevancedgamer I wish I had enough skills to help you. I would gladly do that. The sad truth is I don't but thanks anyways for replying to me and for linking the github tree

Only took me a little while, but we managed to get wifi on focal as well! (not main device so revealing serial number doesn't matter )
Bugs remaining are:
Bluetooth (pairs but doesn't work perfectly; serial number is broken)
Browsing (Need to forward-port a patch from xenial in rootfs)
UI lags (relatively small change, will try to fix this first)
Camera (I don't want to touch it :P)
...and some more. Will keep you all updated! -

Great! Thanks a lot for keeping us posted!
-
only a little bit further and this port will start getting polished -
Yay, Bluetooth works as well now
-
@thevancedgamer wow! Not a single day goes by without great news
-

You're kidding, right? Of course we do!
-
@thevancedgamer is this port already in the installer?
-
@messayisto Not yet, it's still being worked on. Hope it gets in the installer soon however
-
For all you people wondering about device-side patches, I just got done with https://github.com/muhammad23012009/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974-rebase/commit/ee3ccd30032f62234cad3078a32bc3c64039643a
and now we should have AppArmor 3.0-rc in kernel 3.4! (basically means more apps work :D) -
I have just read this update and have to say I cannot wait to see this in the install options.
Great work on bringing this forwardIf we wait as we should will this Focal appear in Edge/Devel or a new channel?
Your work on will keep this device active for many so congratulations
I saw Helium as an option but don't want break anything....yet!
