This varies from device to device. It's probably how sleep/deep sleep is setup in the port. I don't think UT has special handling when SSH is used so not sure if there's a simple generic solution.

              Hi @rekodoesstuff
You can go in the settings and select "never" in the delay before turning off the screen.
I bet Kugiigi is right about the sleep setup.

@applee is there another way? (so it dosent get screen burn)? i just need the screen to be off but the services that running is not slowed down.

@rekodoesstuff said in SSH lag when phone screen is off:

(so it dosent get screen burn)

Screen burn can only occurs on OLED screen at this scale.
Minimum screen brightness, and black background as a workaround.

Anyway, if you did tell us what phone you have, someone could tell you if this issue occurs for him too.

                      Is it solved?

My red rice note7 has the same problem

I'm using it to run the Minecraft server

And I feel that not only SSH, but also the overall processing speed has slowed down

@raybiko Well, yes. This is a phone. The idea is to throttle as much as possible when the device is sleeping. Hence the repeated advice not to reason about your phone in the same way you reason about a raspberry pi, for instance.
However, if battery life is not a concern for you, you could try disabling app suspension for the Terminal app in the Ubuntu Tweak Tool, available in the Open Store.
