Lots of issues on my FP2 OTA3, help plz
-
Hi, I also have the FP2 but not the issues you describe.
I installed UT via the ubports installer from a linux machine with sudo rights. Before that I made sure to have the latest FP OpenOS installed. -
@jsnjhn the download issue is known and hopefully will be tackled soon. Although I only have this with files in Nextcloud.

The two issues mentioned on top of the list (temperature of the device and fast battery drain) let me think in some run-away process in the phone, consuming all processor time and converting battery energy in heat.
Try installing the terminal-app, start it and issue the command 'top'. Then issue the command 'i' (only the letter without the apostrophes) which will make top not showing idle processes. If you (as you say a new user) can not interpret what you see, try capture the screen (best in landscape mode) and post it here.
The command 'top' will end when you type the letter 'q' (q like quit)

@twinkybot
Thanks for answering my call!
I installed UT through the ubports installer on my MacOS as I don't have the skills yet to operate linux. The installation went smoothly, prior to installing UT I had the latest Android update.My download issue comes with all kind of files, images, contact, calendar files...

Thanks for helping me out! Hope I did that right, here's what it shows:

Have you issued the 'i' command in top? It toggles away the idle processes. When I do this, i have only 10-15 proc running, you have lots more on the screen.
And your system is only 49.3% idle (mine around 95%). This explains why it runs hot and the battery drain.

I tried it again with the command i as I am not quite sure what it is suppose to look like, here's what I got:
This is while being on airplaine mode, no data and wifi.
Is there a way or command I can execute to idle more my system? -

Is there a way or command I can execute to idle more my system?Now we have the culprit: it is the process 'mediascanner-service'. Do you have somewhere, for example on the SD card, lots of files? If so, create in the directory a file named '.nomedia' (don't ignore the leading dot in the name) and then mediascanner will ignore this directory and all dirs below.

I turned off my phone and took the SD card out as I don't really need it. The internal storage of the phone is almost empty I'll try it today see how the battery performs and I'll get back at you. Thanks a lot -
