Re: OTA-24 Call for Testing Companion Post
I changed to RC channel on my Volla X and installed 2022-W47 (still 16.04 ?).
All seems to work fine (bluetooth and fingerprint problems are solved and all the apps running propertly).
I wanted to test last UT 20.04. But now, the updater suggests me to install Ubuntu Touch version 7.
Version 7? Wich one is that? OTA-7 ?
I am still in the CV channel. If I switch to stable version, same 'version 7' is suggested to download.
Should I install version 7 ?
Thanks. -
@naizena The RC version of 20.04 is a beta and iirc numbered 0.0 To get it you need to use the installer or pick the second RC channel from System Settings.
Please rmember if you do this it will not remove your 16.04 apps. Many will not work some will need up dating from the OpenStore and some may work. -

I have also moved the post. Thanks

No, in stable this means that it is the 7th stable release for this device, wich is OTA-24.
Version 8 will be for OTA-25.OTA versionning is device agnostic, for some (maybe only one) devices, "OTA-25" is the 25th stable release, not for Vollas, not for my MX4, not for most of devices.

@keneda @lakotaubp @phoenixlandpirat Thanks all of you.
I managed to update to 20.04 but I reinstalled the stable version because most application launchers got duplicated and Teleports didn't work. -
@naizena If you can the best way at present would be imho to use the installer use the wipe and bootstrap option to get a clean install of just 20.04.
If, as I think you did and try RC you will still keep all your 16.04 apps. Some if which will still work others will not. TELEports does work but you need to install the 20.04 version from the 20.04 version of the OpenStore now on your device. When you go back to 16.04 you may have to do the same again. The process is not the same as changing channels in 16.04 you are in affect changing OS.
