for ubports i just want to request this feature "Night Light". the ubuntu touch. is very good operating system manage by ubports but the only thing missing here. is eye protection. I hope my request will be heard. it's just not for me. many ubuntu touch users will also benefit from this when you add this feature. Night Light for eye protection.

        Hi @chan1234

The topic got discussed some times ago.
        https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5132/night-mode-app-available?_=1676371150226

The answer is still the same, nothing that I know off is available as a hack and nothing is officially worked on.

In the meantime, I grew a personal opinion on the topic.
I don't have my sources available, but I read that there was no solid proof of it having any effect.
So basically if you need to rest your eyes, keep them away from your phone, that's low tech but 100% effective.
I have no proof but in case the red shift is useless then the net benefit will be a false idea of improvement in your eye safety which is worse.

So to ease your eyes you can lower the luminosity, use dark theme and the best avoid unnecessary screen time.

Just to state another time this is my personal opinion on the topic and scientific study may prove me wrong.
I'm just sharing so you can choose what is best for you.
And if someone come up with this feature I'm sure it will be welcome by many.

A better discussion of implementing this feature is:

          https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2848/what-s-the-situation-with-blue-light-filtering-on-ubuntu-touch/

The tl;dr: it needs to be implemented (in Mir) and someone who thinks it important needs to their spend time doing that.
