Just installed the OTA with the supposed fix on my Redmi 9, but I now ran into the bootloop issue while I didn't have an issue before.
Edit: switching to devel does indeed fix the issue.

installed last RC on my Nexus 5, it now starts well, tested 7 times, the only different is that when I turn off the phone the screen stays black but on for 12 to 15 seconds, when before it turned off in 2 to 3 seconds. thanks for your work .
Regards...

I’m on Volla, 16.04/Xenial, RC channel. I didn’t have the reboot issue.
After latest update, my phone restarted, then freezes at the Volla boot screen.
I am typing this on another device.
Two questions:- What is the best way to return to the former working state? It’s my daily driver.
[EDIT: I see the answer is already mentioned: going through installer without wipe option and choose 'devel' channel. It was later in the evening that I wrote my post and didn't read this thread well enough.] - For those who haven’t updated yet: what’s the best advice?
[I guess switching to devel channel before? Normally, devel is not to be used for your daily driver device, but I guess because OTA-25 is the last Xenial update, it's no problem now because no testing new software will be performed on 16.04 anyway.]

Didn't make a difference. Only devel fixes the issue for now.

Will try switching back to RC later. Codename of the device is lancelot: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/lancelot/
Will also try my mum's Pixel 3a tomorrow as she also experienced this bootloop issue.

P3a is ok according to several users.
Weird it happens for you. But that that bootloop seems very random for some devices.
Please report soon, release is planned this Week End if all is ok. -

devel worked for me too (Fairphone 3+ / i installed the update with the "stable-channel" in my phone updater). I'm afraid now to switch back to stable... In the updater on my phone, the update (titled with "Version 7") still exists, it starts to download and i paused it. So am i ever be possible to update my phone now to a stable version???
