    • RE: trouble unlocking Oneplus Nord N10 5G phone

      I, a non-geek, must be doing something stupid. I never used android (privacy concern).

      I decided to post a bunch of pictures. Hopefully someone can see something wrong.

      First I login to the phone and look at setting: about phone. When I tap build number, I see
      a box that say "No need, you are already a developer."

      DeveloperMode.jpg

      When I search for oem, I see "OEM unlocking: Allow the bootloader to be unlocked."

      OEMUnlockingpreview.jpg

      If I click it, I see it is "ON".

      OEMUnlocking.jpg

      I plug the USB cable into the computer, enter "adb reboot fastboot". On the phone,
      -> select "English"
      -> select "Advanced"
      -> select "reboot to fastboot"

      I see

      FastbootMode.jpg

      On computer, I type and get

      $ fastboot flashing unlock
      FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
      ')
      fastboot: error: Command failed

      Again, this phone was brought "new factory unlocked" from ebay. And it is a BE2026 model.
      Also I am in USA - west coast (earthquake land).

      Can you spot if I did something stupid?

      Thank in advanced for helping.

      Thank for helping. Unfortunately, same error.

      I entered fastboot via computer and got the same error.

      I still get

      $ fastboot flashing unlock
      FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
      ')
      fastboot: error: Command failed

      I also tried and got (same error)

      $ fastboot oem unlock
      FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
      ')
      fastboot: error: Command failed

      Am I missing an utility??? What does the error message means?

    • trouble unlocking Oneplus Nord N10 5G phone

      I am trying to install UT on a Oneplus Nord N10 5G phone.

      Been having trouble unlocking the phone - been banging my head on the wall.
      Please help before it cracks.

      Preliminary: In settings, I have on

      • developer mode
      • OEM Enabled
      • USB Enabled
      • Wireless ADB Debugging on

      I am using linux computers (linux mint and neon) with adb and fastboot installed via Synaptic Package Manager.

      After entering fastboot mode, I type and get

      $ fastboot oem unlock
      FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
      ')
      fastboot: error: Command failed

      I also tried

      $ fastboot flashing unlock
      FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
      ')
      fastboot: error: Command failed

      What am I missing? an utility???

      Thank in advanced for your help.

    • RE: What do you use to root Oneplus Nord N10? SuperSU, Magisk, or something else?

      @Moem

      Thank for replying Interesting...

      1. Will UBPorts still work?

      2. What happens if I brick the phone?

      Sheng-Chieh

      p.s. Can a developer modify UBPorts so that the
      users see only bootloader needs to be unlocked.

    • What do you use to root Oneplus Nord N10? SuperSU, Magisk, or something else?

      Oneplus Nord N10 users

      I am not a geek, so slowly trying to understand everything before trying to install Ubuntu Touch.
      Don't want to brick my phone.

      UBPorts links to

      Oneplus One - how to unlock bootloader, install custom recovery and root
      https://community.oneplus.com/thread/64487

      This article mentions SuperSU. A DDG search for "SuperSU" yields

      SuperSU is a >>> DISCONTINUED <<< proprietary Android application that can keep track of the root permissions of apps, after the Android device has been rooted. SuperSU is generally installed through a custom recovery such as TWRP.

      I don't like the word, DISCONTINUED - potentially unsupported.

      A DDG search for "rooting oneplus linux" -> "more" suggests using Magisk.

      What do you use to root Oneplus Nord N10?

      Also do you happen to have any good documentation link on rooting this phone?

      Thank in advanced for your help.

    • RE: where is USB enabled?

      @gpatel-fr You are correct. "How to enable developer mode" states
      enable USB debugging (<- me bad - didn't see correctly), ADB, or
      Android D... Bridge".

      P.s. i'll try again after shower nap - so sleepy now.

    • where is USB enabled?

      I recently got an oneplus nord n10 BE2026 model. The UBPorts
      installer ask me to USB enabled. I don't see in the settings.
      I have the phone in developer mode (click build # repetitively
      until developer mode) and OEM enabled. Is USB enabled hidden
      somewhere? Or is there an equivalent USB something? Or what?

      Btw, educate me - what is the difference between USB enabled
      and USB debugging?

      Thank in advanced for your help.

    • RE: BUDGET 5G smartphone w/ Ubuntu Touch

      Dear Ubuntu Touch users

      Thank you for your answers.

      Yes I am in USA. I did some research on difference between BE2026 and BE2028.
      And found

      Oneplus Nord N10 5G hardware variants
      https://xdaforums.com/t/oneplus-nord-n10-5g-hardware-variants.4221237/

      BE2025 - Metro, maybe t-mobile?
      Be2026 - NA
      BE2028 - EU?
      BE2029 - Global

      BE2026 it is. Thank for the warning.
