Just a fun little background I threw together for my Nexus 5 from images on the web. Thought I'd share!

RE: Anbox on Nexus 5
Anbox will be implemented in 16.04. The current release of 16.04 is only intended for development/testing, as it is a work in progress. If you take a look at the FAQ on ubports.com, there is an entry on this when you scroll down a bit.

RE: Chosing device for Ubuntu touch
I finally made the jump and I decided on the Nexus 5 32GB. I got one brand new from eBay for about $160, and went with the iBlaston Armor box from Amazon for a case (built in screen protectors are my preference). The experience has been fantastic so far. Extremely easy to unlock the bootloader and flash the new OS, especially compared to other android devices I've hacked before (the UBPorts installer is really straight forward and simple) Despite being an older device, it runs fast and smooth. I haven't had the money to spare on hardware to try convergence yet, but I'm looking forward to it! Only hickup I really had was that I couldn't swipe close enough to the edge to pull out the launcher with the case on, but changing edge settings in the UT Tweak tool was a fast remedy.
Overall investment came in at under $175 including shipping and I couldn't be happier. If you want to try it out and don't want to invest a lot of money, Nexus 5 is readily available and reasonably priced. I'll update this when I've got my desktop converged onto my 54" TV and let you know if it's as fun as I think it'll be (bet it is!).

RE: Keyboard Changes
Agreed that the keyboard can use some improvements... (This is true, IMO, of most touchscreen keyboards). Don't know about predictive text... I don't use it on any device.
One thing I've always wanted on a touch screen is a way to move the cursor one character at a time for correcting typos, the way you can with the arrow keys on a traditional keyboard. One idea that came to me would be a toggle option in the keyboard settings to make the volume buttons work like left & right arrows whenever the onscreen keyboard is active. Call it something like 'volume cursor control'... Maybe a cool & unique feature?

RE: Cannot choose option via call
Same here. UT 15.04 OTA-3 on a Nexus 5 is now my only working phone. I haven't had this happen to me yet.
If nothing else works, possibly just a re-install of the image? I had bugs with my sim card that went away completely after my 2nd install. It's been bothering me, but I honestly have no clue what/if I did anything differently the 2nd time around.
I guess repeating tasks with expectation of different results pays off for some of us...
The issue hasn't returned since. -
RE: uNav 1.0 is out today
@libremax
New uNav is looking great and seems to run way smoother. I'll test it out driving this Wednesday!

Nexus 5 Screenshot Control
Would it be possible to add some options for how screenshots are taken? It took me a while (longer than I'm proud of... lol) to realize that there's an additional detent in my volume up button, and that's why I had hundreds of screen shots to delete off of my phone.
I'd love if it only took a screenshot when I press the button while holding one finger on screen. Maybe something in UT tweak tool could assign various combinations of button presses and screen gestures to some tasks and shortcuts? Anyway, just thinking out loud.
Thank you!

RE: Keyboard Changes
@vadrian89 said in Keyboard Changes:
True, but not only the predictions are counterintuitive, the size of the predictions also is an issue.
I think the size should be bigger and font changed, If this limits the current visible predictions to 3-4 words shouldn't be an issue as it will help those with sight issues.This might be a good feature for UT Tweak Tool...
