RE: Post your thoughts here on this tablet...
Fresh install today after a long hunt for the right model.
Worked very well - getting the device unlocked took a slightly different approach than I am used to but worked none the less.
Install went well.
Stuck on boot screen for a short while - restarted and realised I should have been more patient on a first boot (not for the first time! :baby_angel:
Have to say - so far - downloaded a few apps = works like a charm
Currently on last devel build from 9th Jan 2025 - and very impressed so congratulations @rubencarneiro once again.
Been after a working tablet for UT since selling on my (very) old Nexus 7 2nd Gen and this is a delight in comparison.

RE: Bacon goes focal!
@TheVancedGamer Did this move regarding the camera at all?

RE: This week in development (week 52 2024)
I have to step back and say:
wow i can not believe this has come this far @mariogrip
Congratulations
It seems a long time since this first started..Well done.Second. These updates are so helpful. Stops the questions but still yet leads them.
Third. What do you need from US...the community first?

RE: Bacon goes focal!
Worked well - a few bugs when using webber making apps and the browser was a little funky with reloading sites sometimes.
Point for others to note - rolling back to 16:04 is not easy to do ( I could not ) so the Halium change must be linked to this.
In the end - flash twrp /cm12/sailfish then reflashed 16:04 again. However this is great work and I am pleased this has ported -more to do I was surprised how much actually worked - which is a good thing!

RE: Oneplus One Halium 9 port in the works...
I have just read this update and have to say I cannot wait to see this in the install options.
Great work on bringing this forwardIf we wait as we should will this Focal appear in Edge/Devel or a new channel?
Your work on will keep this device active for many so congratulations
I saw Helium as an option but don't want break anything....yet!

RE: Q&A 89 Blog And Audio Available Now
and thanks for asking and indeed answering my question about sharing fixes for Pine devices from other distros...certainly was not wishing to sound as if I was complaining just wanted to know how easy/hard it is to port across fixes. Now I know as you made it very clear.
Very helpful.Ps Great to see the progress on the installer coming along so well.

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 89 Saturday 21st November At 19:00 UTC
I would be interested to know how easy say with the Pinetab or even the pinephone is it to use the fixes for broken Ubuntu Touch build elements that have been fixed perhaps in other builds.
As an example other builds for the pinetab have fixes already working for bluetooth/rotation etc say in Arch or Sailfish oS or Manjaro
Are these easy to port across?

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
@andybleaden found the bug related to twitter/linkedin
Downgraded to stable. Something upstream with the browser then
-
RE: PineTab
Has anyone had any joy with the Bluetooth/Rotation issues
I see they are getting fixed on the other build such as Mobian/Manjaro and Sailfish so would be good to know if those fixes (I know it aint that easy!) are portable from them to us?
-
RE: Oneplus 3/3T
@mymike Yes I Use it right now. It is great and I think reasonably smooth on the 3T
Sorted the google account downgrade which helps
Sorted the camera so that works _in between upgrades
I am on dev channel which is reliableOnly bug I have is after setting up Twitter and Linked in they now seem to have log in errors
but I really like it on the OP3T - feels very nice to use

RE: PineTab
@AppLee just to note I have had no sd card issues. Mine were like all others = Bluetooth rotation sound (fixable)
I have read sdcard is hard for some to insert (small space) (upside down !) And boy does it ping the card out fast and far!
I use it to test other distros (too) often but still using and enjoying by Ubuntu Pinetab
Main beef for me still Bluetooth and rotation. Fix those and it's fine for me

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 84 This Saturday At 19:00 UTC
There was a suggestion previously to do a feature QA on Pinephone. This could be a really good idea including tips, issues and ideas and would be great also for other officially supported devices -Pinetab FP2, OPO etc....
Could this be a regular feature perhaps with input from a regular volunteer user who runs Device X?

RE: PineTab
@andybleaden edit - we can use Jumpdrive
https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Jumpdrive/releases/tag/0.3 -
RE: PineTab
@halucigenia Checked the sound issue.
Tested the Uart/Headphone switch (next to SC Card slot) - nothing
Ran sudo alsamixer and noted Headphones were set to Mute!
Hit tab to get to the Headphone bar - Hit M to Unmute and bingo !
Now have sound through headphones -
RE: PineTab
@arubislander Have either of you worked how we can boot from the SD Card yet? ie with another distro ?
-
RE: PineTab
@halucigenia
Got mine yesterday
Very nice it is too.
I can confirm that after flashing last nights dev build:Bluetooth is not working
Rotation seems to be not working
Camera not working (at all)
Dekko seems crashy
Account setup not yet possible for online accounts - for me anyway even with @rubencarneiro fix I used to use on a OnePlus 3TFirst impressions?
What I expected. Need to work out a few things of course and lots of bugs to start to hammer out but hey I have a tablet in my hands that came with a keyboard and trackpad that is a little buggy but - it runs Ubuntu Touch so I am happy
Lots to do and need to crack on with it.

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
Really great to see the MTP issue has been resolved. Well done who ever has solved that. Great to see that and also potentially the ringtone sorted. Who do we have to thank for sorting these 2 out of 3 headaches?
