Bluetooth file exchange impossible
I've searched the topics related to bluetooth problems but all of them seem to be more or less outdated and none of them seem to be helpful. This is why I've created new topic. My Nexus 4 is recognised by other devices as a speaker. Doesn't matter if I pare my phone with other one or not when I try to exchange any data it fails. My OS is 16.04 OTA-5 if it helps. Any suggestions?

RE: Linphone App Now In OpenStore
Great news that there is finally a SIP-app for UT! Thank all the people involved in creating this port.

RE: most wanted core apps to run ubuntu as daily phone OS
@advocatux I understand it, but it is a reply to my question regarding the android apps working in Adbox. I asked a wider question what app can we use now/will use as soon as possible on our UT devices which will be open source (at best) and work as same as Signal (including voice calls) for example and with background notifications of course?

RE: most wanted core apps to run ubuntu as daily phone OS
@flohack Thank You for this reply. As I wrote above I hope the notifications from apps working in background will be implemented somehow in UT in the future. If this is not a core app/functionality it is for sure very important matter for large number of people. Best Regards!

RE: most wanted core apps to run ubuntu as daily phone OS
@stefano do You know what is the chance that android apps working in Anbox will be sending notifications from the background (I'm about the telephony/messaging apps)? Flohack has wrote that the structure of the OS doesn't currently give the possibility of notifications from background working apps...

RE: most wanted core apps to run ubuntu as daily phone OS
@flohack and others thank You for the clarification of this matter. Regarding "But keep in mind, currently telephony makes little sense, since Apps dont execute in the background due to the design of the OS" and this is not optimistic conclusion :(. The internet telephony/messaging without notifications in background makes its usefulness very limited. I hope it will be possible to "fix" it somehow in the future. I wish it all of us!

RE: most wanted core apps to run ubuntu as daily phone OS
@flohack we can't/want have whatsapp because it is a proprietary app, we can't have Telegram and Signal (open source as far as I know) apps because they change/add the features all the time and Ubports team have no man-power resources to update them (am I right?). On the other hand I think we need to have this kind of app in UT, what is an alternative then? I visit this forum just from time to time, maybe I've missed something, is there available any app to make internet voice calls possible (as with Telegram/Signal)? I remember that I once got a reply from You in January and You mentioned Linphone as possible to be available on UT. It would be great but as far as I know there is no any update reg. the work progress of this matter. There is one link to the Telegram group but I do not use Telegram anymore as probably many of other UT users. Sorry if I'm wrong.

RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
I had an impression that there is no chance to have internet voice calls on UT due to fact there is no Telegram/Signal voice calls implementation. Today I read this topic: link text :). I'll keep watching it. I just need any (encrypted would be the best one of course) SIP client which would be used on UT, Android and iOS. Linphone seems to cover these needs!

RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
@guru ...and great! I wish I could use it as well as my daily phone. I do not like to repeat myself so please just read what I have written above. I've nowhere written that there is no possibility to use this OS on a daily phone isn't it? Only I stated above and gave my arguments to this it is not suitable for me as a main OS on daily phone. Wish You all the best!

RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
@cheniek Hi again. I wanted to use something as open sourced as possible on my phone but have actually no choice for the moment due to the issues described earlier (also in other threat- Signal/Telegram apps) :(. I've moved with my nexus 4 to the stock android OS provided with this phone. Just in a comparison matter- I fully charged the battery on Wednesday late evening. I have still 47% of battery left with similar intensiveness of usage in comparison to UT... It is much much longer that what I could achieve with UT and even Lineage OS. I hope to have a possibility to use Ubuntu or other open sourced OS in the future on my main phone. Now it is impossible...

RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
@flohack I know there is a lot of worki with this kind of things. I am far from complaining of course. Unfortunately even if my needs in general are not big still are there some things I can not go without. Good luck in creating a nice operating system.

RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
@flohack Telegram for UT don't allow voice calling? I convinced today my friend to switch from Signal to Telegram because I wanted to be with him in touch, and You Just improved ubuntu version. Signal has no voice calls possibility. Now after installation of Telegram I realized that Telegram doesn't cover voice calls to....

RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
Ok, it seems that after the changes the battery loses energy slower than previously but still much faster than with 2G mode. Anyway I have a problem with constant 3G connection. It drops a connection and recover and again and again. I have a second phone next to me and have no connectivity issue so this is not my provider issue. Only on this phone with UT. One more matter makes me unhappy using UT now. I was surprised at first that there exists a Signal app for UT which i've been using for quite a long time already. I think this is more safe and secure than Telegram, not mentioning whattsap etc. Today I realized that with UT signal app I can't make voice calls as it is possible with android version of app. I need this app to be in touch with a person important to me so without this feature I can not use Ubuntu as my daily phone :(. What a pity because I like the idea of this OS. Keep doing good job. Thanks for support and bye for now.

RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
@flohack Hmmm, I've been using Dekko 2 already but get no notifications anyway :/. I know that have new e- mails only when open an app check it manually...
-
RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
@flohack Yes I can :). I will charge my phone to 100% when I'm back home, switch to 3G and will see.

RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
@flohack Thank You for this reply. What does mean old Dekko? Is there a new version with notifications or other e-mail client using push notif.?
-
RE: UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
I'm about the new push notification service of UT. I've installed UT 15.04- 172 (dev channel). It is newest image I can get from update settings on my phone (Nexus 4). Am I missing something? I do not still get notifications from for example Signal, Dekko apps. I get the notifications only from Messages and Calendar apps.

RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
OK, for those who also have a problem with high battery drain in their Nexus 4. I realized a few times that my phone drops a 3G connection for a while and quickly catch it back. Yesterday I switched a connection type completely to 2G. After this the battery went down during the night in percentage from 90 to 70. When it was set to 3G it usually used to lose over 50% during the night. So it seems that this is a point. A 3G connection drains my battery much more than other OSes. In 3G mode this phone battery under Lineage OS used to last within more than 1 day of quite intensive usage. Under UT in 3G mode it lasts within 12 hours of small-average usage. I do not know what is the time of battery life in 2G mode under Lineage OS as I had no reason to test it. So for the moment I'm going to use 2G connection most of the time and switch to 3G in case of need of faster internet connection.

RE: High battery drain- Nexus 4
@guru I have searched the web, have a look at this link text. So it seems that mpdecision process is actually an integral part of qualcomm processors and is in charge of...smaller battery consumption haha. So if permanent killing of this process would be possible it would even decrease the battery life. It is not right diagnose of what makes my battery lasts so quick. Any other idea?
