Controversial posts made by guru

Any critic discussion about the actual state of the MUA in the UBports project is either just deleted, locked or sent to off-topic. I will think about if my active participation in this forum makes any sense.

I'm very thankful to Dan and all the UBports community for the work they have done and do, and where I can I help I do so, with my knowledge and with tests, for example for Dekko.

Do not get my message wrong. I'm and old software developer with more than 30 years of background in UNIX, etc. And I'm an user of UT since the beginning (when the 1st devices were sold), a beta tester for BQ.com for the tablet. The BQ E4.5 is my daily driver and my work (and social contacts) depend on a functional MUA on this device. The (old) Dekko worked fine for me. When I moved from UT to UBports, I have had to move to Dekko2, and got no new features, but many issues. That's why for me as an user, this is clearly a step back, a regression.

On Canonicals OTA-15 I was a happy user of Dekko with three IMAP+SMTP accounts . Now on OTA-5 I'm using the same three servers with Dekko2. And I have so many issues now, the most anoying are:

• no way to save attachments
• no view full source of a mail
• no cut&paste from/to text
• no proposal of known contacts in To or Cc field
• merging the three accounts into one inbox (for me this is not a feature, but a bug)
• no way to share files from gallary as attachments
• ...
  Why this? Is Dekko2 based on the source of Dekko? And if so, why this regression?

Can someone please post a screen showing 2-3 tabs and the actual tab. When I do understand this here correctly, all tabs look like tabs having a X to be closed and only the actual screen does not look like a tab and has this X between location bar and hamburger menu.

With the old navigator app all tabs have had the same style. That's why I count this a regression bug. Well, you can also call it a feature, if you want

I copied to the SD some 70.000 files (OSM tiles to be used by uNav when tiles can't be fetched from Internet) and since then the gallery-app stoped presenting new fotos or screenshots. The reason is that some mediascanner is running in background and could not end up indexing all these files. One has to create a file with the name .nomedia in each directory to which the proc should not descend. Just as a hint.
