RE: Freezes and reboots with sim card inserted
@antidroid you would think where ubuntu touch puts the error /chrash log for the modem related stuff would be a question someone would have the answer too. assuming thats fairly universal

RE: Freezes and reboots with sim card inserted
@antidroid yeah I get that, when I was trying to make sure I bought the right one I was frustrated because all the ones that met the official page spec seemed to be 10 plus there was like 4 different models and the non pluses where all 3gb on ebay. So I went to the install instruction and read through the whole forum thing and sorted it out lol.

@antidroid said in Freezes and reboots with sim card inserted:
ia 10 Plus in the list of supported devices. I am surprised you even got it installed. It uses a different CPU and GPU than the Xperia 10
It is under the 10 section and everything works (including game). If you go to xperia 10 installation page it mention mermaid image is for 10 plus (in the main linked discussion) and the other one is for non plus. Also the plus had the 4gb the ubi touch page claims it has while non plus is 3gb.
In the discussion it also has the extra step needed to turn on the cellular modem for dual sim plus (which mine is not) however someone else with sing sim plus also has to follow the step minus setting second device. I did this and it detected sim and locks up and reboots.

@lakotaubp yeah that is my post I thought maybe the lack of reply for the week or so may have been related to putting it in wrong section and tried support.

xperia 10 plus freezes and bootloops when sim is inserted
have the xperia 10 plus 13223 and have an sd card in one slot, when I insert my sim (straight talk on at and t network) and reboot it shows searching for network before the interface locks up and reboots. I was wondering if this is a know issue or where I would look for error logs.

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
@akikyo any clue what would cause adding a sim to have a hard lockup and reboot ?
-
RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
inserting sim and getting the binder setting configed so it knows to try and get a cellular network is bootlooping the phone lol

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
so haven't tried it with a sim so far but everything seems to work well, minus the sd card. 64gb sd card tried fat 32 exfat and ext4. it sees the card exist in the external manager doesn't auto mount and format is greyed out.

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
Please can someone point me in the right direction 3 days straight and getting no where on trying to boot twrp.
Windows machine won't let me install the fast boot driver and when rebooting to fast boot with adb the fastboot boot command just says waiting for a device and windows refuses to install the fast boot driver from any source.
The oem boot loader unlock toggle is greyed out saying boot loader is already unlocked
Under linux fastboot boot twrp.img just stays on transmitting boot.img for all of eternity and the screen on device stays black with the blue light. Xperia flash-tools on windows says to install the fast boot drivers the installer fails per windows being a pain.
I bought this unlocked device purely for the purpose of flashing it.

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
@jhackler well I got it to Sending 'boot.img' where it just stays there forever and the phone just stays black, better than failing I guess lol

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)

-
RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)

not able to receive any files by bluetooth, I can share sounds only. I am not able to download any picture from TELEports (or Telegram) and the phone rebooting instead of shutting down sometimes. I am about to flash another Android 9 to try if it helps me. Maybe I have problems with drivers. My syslog has over 19MB and contains nonsensical dating. Logs from 8th March are between logs from 30th March, logs from 7th are between logs from 29th March etc. Do you think, could it be caused by "bad" Android version on my phone? Or is it just all about looking for solutions in ubuntu? Thanks for any advice...
Lol I am prolly gonna be back later today when I get my phone asking how to flash from linux hopefully not seems simple, first time flashing a phone though.

RE: Sony Xperia 10 (kirin)
@jhackler keep in mind I don't know if it was just seems weird to have found a fix 2 years ago and not have made it's way into a release yet lol
