@kaveman the password field in the vpn editor also refuses to save the value I put into it

RE: VPN config - proton
@mrt10001 the file from proton is a single .ovpn file
the instructions say you have to request two files:
ProtonVPN_ca.crt
ProtonVPN_tls-auth.keyfrom proton support and they get emailed to you, having trouble sorting this out

VPN config - proton
Hi everyone, I'm trying to use the guide on protonvpn setup here: https://ubports.com/blog/ubports-news-1/post/vpn-on-ubuntu-touch-3022
I'm pretty familiar with proton services but I'm totally stumped on where to request these files:
ProtonVPN_ca.crt
ProtonVPN_tls-auth.key -

RE: oneplus one, stuck on firmware flash
@mrt10001 I think I have it almost working now, I got to the stage of booting into recovery
Now the phone is showing "powered by ubuntu" and further down the screen it says "suported by ubports" the ubports installer is showing "waiting for device"
should I power down and try to boot back into recovery again?
disconnect and start over with installer?

RE: oneplus one, stuck on firmware flash
I have a weird issue, the ubports installer detects my opo but when I run "fastboot devices" in powershell with the opo connected in fastboot mode nothing is returned
I double checked that I have the universaladb drivers installed as well

oneplus one, stuck on firmware flash
Hi everyone, the ubports installer is something I've tried on and off for the past couple years as new updates came out, but I've never been able to get it to work.
It seems its closer now than ever as it instantly detects my phone and prompts to start the install but as in the past the installer gets stuck on "flashing firmware" and the phone stays on "fastboot mode" showing on screen. I've given it about an hour so far, where should I start for troubleshooting?

RE: Oneplus One possibly bricked
@monty46 how did you get to the stage of something saying "bootloader unlock"? I couldnt find that setting in the developer option and all I've managed so far is to have it sit on "flashing firmware" and the phone showing "fastboot mode" for ever, nothing seems to happen and when I give up and disconnect the phone boots back into android

RE: Installing ubuntu touch from twrp.
@povoq is there a common cause for oneplus one to just hang on "flashing firmware" with the phone showing "fastboot mode" and then it just stays that way for as long as I leave it running?

@lakotaubp said in Installing ubuntu touch from twrp.:
@johirhaquedipok What OS are you using? Dev mode, usb debugging, bootloader unlocked? all the normal just checking.
im in the same boat here, all the guides are pretty old, I've tries the recent ones I can find and so far can't progress past "flashing firmware.." with the phone showing "fastboot mode"
how many hours does the process take? does certain options like "wipe user data" need to be toggled off for the oneplus one? very confused as lots of places saying the ubports installer is good nowadays to do this, ive been trying on and off for about 2 months and can't make progress
the phone is in dev mode, ive installed android sdk, ive tried installing another mini tool from some forum thats supposed to put adb and fastboot working in windows 10
no idea what to try next but I have a hunch a lot of people are not trying out ubuntu touch as they run into an issue like this and all the trouble shooting on it is from more than a year or more back
