Have you tried "sudo waydroid init -f"?
An internet connection is required.

An internet connection is required.
The takeaway is that you should not change the DNS server for the mobile internet connection using nmcli.
@gpatel-fr Yes, there are two connections with the same name (web.vodafone.de).
@gpatel-fr I assume so too. But I'm unsure if it's a good idea to delete the faulty connection. I'm afraid that this will affect the functioning connection.
@gpatel-fr Yes, I did, but that doesn't help.
The problem may be because the "TYPE" has changed from "gsm" to "cdma" and the network setting is no longer recognized as a mobile internet connection.
As a test, I inserted the SIM card into the second slot and there was an internet connection with the same name. The TYPE is gsm.
I can't change the TYPE of the broken connection to gsm. And I don't know if it makes sense to delete the broken connection.
Yes, I've tried this several times without success.
Obviously the cellular connection settings (TYPE cdma) are not allowed to be changed using nmcli. The commands " nmcli c modify ... ipv4.dns "" " and " ipv4.ignore-auto-dns no " do not restore the default settings maybe because they have been deleted.
Does anyone know where these settings are stored? Maybe I have a backup.
I generally change the DNS server for the wifi connection using the nmcli command. I have now also tried this for the mobile internet connection. Unfortunately, the result is that I can no longer establish a mobile internet connection at all. Even a supposed reset with nmcli doesn't work. In the settings, an "L" for cellular data is displayed under "SIM 1", but this "L" is missing in the taskbar.
I reinstalled the operating system with the Ubports installer, but unfortunately without success.
Does anyone have any idea how to reset mobile internet settings? Thanks!
@gpatel-fr Unfortunately that didn't work for me.
Thanks
@gpatel-fr Thank you for your effort! Unfortunately I don't have a gitlab account to report the issue.
@gpatel-fr Yes, I meant TLS encryption. I'm still looking for the reason why dekko isn't working (I've already tried all the settings ...).
My email provider requires TSL encryption. Is this possible with dekko? Has anyone been able to set up dekko with Vodafone?
@kristatos My provider is Vodafone, which has no special features. The settings are identical to those of my other email programs.
I have installed the latest version of Dekko (0.5.2) on my OP5T (noble), but the validation cannot be completed (the circle spins endlessly). I would like to integrate a very simple IMAP/SMTP mailbox, which I have successfully linked to other systems with identical settings.
The attempts described with an older version or restarts were also unsuccessful.
What could be the problem, and what else can I try? Thank you.
Although I use Ubuntu Touch (UT) as my daily driver, I haven't been able to convince anyone to switch to UT so far. Besides the availability of Android apps, I see two main reasons for this.
Most phones are 5 years old or older. No one wants to invest money in an outdated phone that also has a poor battery by now. Furthermore, the future development for the selected devices is not guaranteed and heavily relies on individual contributors. A potential solution, in my opinion, would be to have a new "primary device" released every two years. This point might be classified as priority 0.
People interested in UT often have a strong focus on privacy and security. While the OS is privacy-friendly, I don't see adequate protection when using browsers. For me, in addition to data encryption, it’s important to easily change the DNS server and to use a secure browser that can mitigate tracking and fingerprinting, for example, through extensions. I think this is priority 5.
Thank you for starting the initiative!
On a OnePlus 5T, I have updated both UT and Waydroid. Since then, on one hand, it has become almost impossible to establish an internet connection in Waydroid. On the other hand, I also have the following problem: if the phone is lying overnight with airplane mode on and Waydroid open, the phone freezes by morning. While the current time is displayed, I can only restart the phone through a hard reset. If I turn off Waydroid beforehand, this does not happen. Does anyone know this problem?
In the calendar of the upper menu bar, each month starts on a Wednesday (like in the current month).
I found a solution: The private DNS must be disabled, and the network connection needs to be restarted.
I have also updated Waydroid and now face the issue that I no longer have an internet connection inside Waydroid. Is there a solution to this problem now?
Is it otherwise possible to revert to the old Waydroid image?
Thank you!
I reinstalled the update with the UBports installer again, then restarted the phone twice for testing, and the restart duration was normal. It looks to me like everything is working as expected now.
