It seems like many things have improved in #servo since I've last checked it out. Performance isn't perfect, but it does still manage to reach 60-70 FPS while screen recording on a Fairphone 5 (~90 without).

Plenty of work left to do before I can ship it as an alternative engine, but I think this time it might make it upstream rather than sitting in a branch for another year.

Catacomb's latest 1.3.0 release fixes an interesting issue:

Apparently on the PinePhone (Pro) when disabling `eg25-manager`, libinput generates a bunch of `XF86WakeUp` press/release events, ultimately ending up with the key permanently pressed. Since Catacomb supports multi-key bindings, it wouldn't trigger bindings anymore, since it only looked at the ones with `XF86WakeUp` active.

    • RE: My Fairphone 5 running #postmarketOS re-gained audio support today, with bonus working mic as well!!

@allpurposemat If it says capabilities, that means it's available but not enabled.

It should look like the following picture. So it's NMEA capable, it's enabled, AND it's refreshing every X seconds. If any of this is missing, whatever you use to enable GPS isn't doing it right.

@allpurposemat I'm testing with my own map app and my NMEA location positioning has been very accurate, even inside my apartment.

I would recommend just checking with `mmcli -m any --location-get` and trying to parse the NMEA GPS data by hand. If that gets you accurate data, it should just be a matter of finding an app that works for you.

Also make sure NMEA is actually enabled with `--location-status`. I could imagine that just 3gpp could be quite inaccurate, which is the default.

@allpurposemat GPS routing using NMEA GPS should work. You need to have the modem-gnss service running and that enables NMEA GPS to work through ModemManager.

Having a full Rust stack would certainly make patching things easier compared to the current WPE WebKit backend.
