@MrT10001 Just got back to my bricked tab problem and re-visited your post. You mention the possible need to split the case. Here's some information I found you may be interested in: The tablet uses a Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm. If you need to trigger EDL mode, you don't need to open the case. There's an easier way. Buy an EDL Deep Flash Cable, which has a button to trigger EDL mode. They are available on ebay quite cheaply. Best regards.

@codenul I pressed the power button and then immediately applied the charger, and it booted. Maybe this does the trick?

@muskist Thank you. I currently have only one running UT at the moment and battery status is displayed correctly, but no battery history in system settings. I have installed indicator-upower and in terminal run: upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_battery This gave me battery stats, but there was a load of stats missing that were there on different UT devices (i.e. Pocophone F1, Redmi Note 7). For some reason the battery stats so far on this tablet seem to be missing, which may be a small thing but could have a bearing on battery/power management? (I question the last bit).

@luksus Apparently some one had a work round for voice calls in Android - I didn't investigate further as I am having issues with the battery always showing 100%. I spent an age getting it to boot back up. I was on stable, but have reverted to RC. I have started another thread on this.

@mrt10001 Thank you. I cannot install UT with an installer or inject it with fastboot as described at link text. Now returning to latest Android 10.

@luksus Yes, it does seem reluctant to boot into UT, but once in it works really well for me. I hadn't rebooted it since the last update and try not to have USB power plugged in all the time. It has it's foibles, but UT runs well. Great port.

@freeinside currently waydroid does not work. Theoretically it should work and I already had it running in an early development state, but since then it never worked again. So I hope it will work again in the future somewhere, but I don't know when this will be.

@muskist My device also did not boot after update ... I first booted to recovery and rebooted, which did not work. Then I booted to fastboot and just rebooted with another long power-button press, which did work. Hm, maybe it is about "touching" the system partition, I don't know. Regarding eMails: Dekko works fine here too, using an IMAP account.

@arubislander Thanks for your reply. I've tried putting empty .nomedia file in root of sd card and confirm it works. However, at first imported stuff was still in Gallery, so used UT Tweak Tool to clear. Then gallery only contained stuff recorded prior to inserting sd card! Btw, agree the need for triple backups of important family photos etc.

@luksus So, I checked for updates and it reported software up to date. On investigation I discovered it was on release candidate channel, so I switched to devel channel and it downloaded 532mb of updates. I installed the updates and after a couple of trys, I managed to coax it to boot. Deep joy, it booted into staged mode! So pleased with the result. I am typing this on my Lenovo tab. Thank you so much for working your magic.

@metrobokke hey, I just made usb-mtp work and after booting it should not be in desktopmode anymore. Please update through Systemsettings (devel-channel) and check it out. Sadly, I still could not make adb work. The issue with the sidepanel and keyboard is OS specific and connected to the desktopmode, since there the panel can be hidden, but the keyboard is not automatically resizing itself. You could mention the issue at the offical bugtracker at https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues, if it is not already there.
