      That'd be really helpful. I'm 16.04 rc 4

I've had a look at the libertine wiki but can't see how to do it

First you create a libertine container if you have not already done so. This can be done from the System Settings -> Libertine tab.

        • Tap either the green Get started button in the lower middle or the + in the upper right corner of the screen.
        • Enter a name for your container.
        • Leave the password field blank
        • Tap on the green OK button (for some reason I keep tapping on the red Cancel button by mistake.)

Some people (including me, on my M10 FHD) have been experiencing a bug where it is impossible to create a libertine container. But if it works for you, then you can proceed to the next step.

The next step is installing the app you want in the container. I am unaware if transmission works in a libertine container, and I would guess that if it does it will cause your device's battery to drain quicker. There is a way to do this from the Settings GUI, but as I have not been able to install a container, I am unaware of the exact steps. So I will explain how to do it via the Terminal application, which can be found in the OpenStore if it is not already installed.

        • Open the Terminal app
        • At the command line type
          libertine-container-manager install-package -p transmission-gtk -i <containername>
Where <containername> is the name you entered in the steps above when creating the container.

Again, I have no idea if transmission will work in a container, but the above steps should help you to find out.

@fishfingers44 just FYI, the documentation is at https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/libertine.html

If you click on v: latest (bottom left hand side on that page) you can read the documentation in other languages than English.

@advocatux is available as an app in the open-store, @lakotaubp? I'm downloading him immediately... He's far more useful than the likes of Siri and Alexa!

I have used transmission in the past on UT and I can confirm it works (worked) quite nicely. Transmission also offers a web interface, so you can use it from the touch enabled browser!

@advocatux Have you been approached by the Mycroft people about doing the voice recordings yet? It makes perfect sense to @Lakotaubp and me!

OK guys I did try a while back but I've tried again. I couldn't create a container using the libertine gui so I did via terminal.

                              Here's what I did:

                              libertine-container-manager create -i test

This went away and installed and configured a bunch of stuff and took ages.

                              libertine-container-manager install-package -p transmission-gtk -i test

                              Now if I do a libertine-container-manager list I get:
                              test
                              xenial-4
                              trans

                              then if I do

                              libertine-container-manager list-apps

                              I get nothing returned

                              If I attempt this again

                              libertine-container-manager install-package -p transmission-gtk -i test

                              I get

libertine-container-manager:175: Error: install_package(): package 'transmission-gtk' is already installed.

                              Any help guys? Thanks

                                  @fishfingers44

                                  Now if I do a libertine-container-manager list I get:
                                  test

                                  trans

one of those three container is the defaul

                                  then if I do

                                  libertine-container-manager list-apps

now you are asking lcm to list the apps in the default containter

                                  I get nothing returned

with the other commands you explicitly specify container "test"

Huh. That surprises me. Is it an option to remove all three containers and start over with just ONE container?

Is there another torrent app in the repo that could be used?

I am sure there are: libertine-container-manager -c 'apt search torrent' should get you going. 'deluge' might be worth a try maybe.

But I am wondering if you would be able to install any packages at all in your container.
