        Hi everyone,
My wife's phone, a firefox zte open c, is dying.
I would like to replace it by a new phone, with UT of course. But, as I can see, all promoted devices are old ones, and not so easy to buy, sometime.
In another hand, it is maybe a good opportunity to buy a phone which will last for a long time.
I really like the fairphone concept, but it is really expensive.
What good phone will you recommand to me for a daily use with Ubuntu Touch on?

@teigneux hi, I moved this topic to Support.

OnePlus One and Nexus 5 are the best options for a daily driver (if the FP2 price is a concern).

You have to know that Nexus 5 has a camera bug though (https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/611) but I hope it will be fixed for OTA-6.

@teigneux Agree with @advocatux Fairphone us pricey. I use OPO now as a daily driver. That has no zoom on the camera at present but other than that is really good as a DD. Got mine second hand from that well known place e**y

Thank you both of you for your advices!
Another question: with the OPO, or the nexus 5, do you receive well mms pictures, even if the data are turned off. It worked well for the open C, but it doesn't for my BQ E5 HD, whereas it worked at the really beginning of the UT adventure (I really hope that this problem will be fixed one day...).

@teigneux I don't use MMS but if IIRC there are some issues with that depending on the carrier

                    Hi.

                    I am a USER who has a Nexus 5 impacted :

Be carreful if you want to buy a NEXUS 5 because of this annoying bug afecting LG-D821 LG-D820 :

Overheating in some circomstances. So the phone is ALMOST unusable. Or not easily usable.

                    See :

                    https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/304

FOR ME, I can't only use my Nexus 5 as a hotspot without overheating.

It's seems to be topical yet with 16.04 Xenial.

I can't tell you what are the nexus 5 without this problem.

THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO EXIST with OTA 5

OPO after years with nexus 4 and 5. I finally switched because the N5 has power button issues that made it very problematic. Very happy with the OPO.

@teigneux Ok, in fact, not so easy to install.
I am stuck both with windows 10 and osx with the installer.
The installer ask me to reboot to bootloader, that is what I did (Fastboot Mode is written on my black screen), and... and nothing appends... 😢
I also have a ubuntu computer but without connexion. How to fixe that?
I searched since the beginning of the evening, but still stuck...
                                Thanks

@teigneux With windows you need 15sec adb tools installed from xda developers also try lots of usb cables. I tried 4 before it went though. Also when it doe s start it take s some time so don't worry about that round about 20 mins if I remember correctly. You may also need to remove all other phone drivers if you have any installed ( I didn't though).

                                    @lakotaubp Thank you!
I am trying and this time, I can see Flashing images in the UBports Installer.
At the same time, the phone did strange things like "optimazing the apps". I didn't touch. I am just waiting.
                                    Wait and see... 🐵

Arg, everything works well, exept this little detail: the phone doesn't find any network (phone network). The sim card works: the pin code is ok.

Another little problem, due to the wifi mac address: it is not possible to join a wifi network which select devices depending of the mac address.

@teigneux Try toggling Flight mode on and off and restarting. Just so I have it straight your OPO picks up the sim card and you can unlock it?
