@Mic_ Think it's was discontinued some months back. It's all here now https://open-store.io/
It was up just a few days ago though. You mean it was not updated at all in months?

UAppExplorer, (EDIT: which I mistakenly thought was created and maintained by Canonical), has been completely discontinued - it has been disabled and is not coming back. It has been replaced by the Open Store, which is created and maintained by UBports. If you wish to browse and install the native Ubuntu Touch apps and webapps then you need to use the Open Store - https://open-store.io
-
@Opolork As far as I know the uappexplorer is no longer being maintained/updated and the Openstore is all you should need.
Edit: Ha Ha Please see post above @TotalSonic was quicker

Thanks @Lakotaubp & @TotalSonic for clarifying that.

Now https://uappexplorer.com/apps is up again !
If I look for apps on Openstore on the phone, I do NOT find exactly the same apps as if I look on https://open-store.io/. E.g. the tinder app (which is e.g. NOT working on Sailfish) I always downloaded here uappexplorer.com and I can find it here open-store.io but NOT directly on the phone Openstore.

It seems that the phone apps on http://uappexplorer.com were last updated around March-2019. I presume uApp Explorer will continue to release snaps for the Desktop distro though?
-
@TotalSonic I think it was never maintained by Canonical.
If I am not mistaken, uAppExplorer was created by Brian which had the UT apps from the then Ubuntu Store and snaps. And during the transition to UBports, Brian created OpenStore and transitioned all UT apps to it so if anyone is specifically looking for UT apps then OpenStore is the way to go

Is Brian still keeping uApp Explorer going to provide snaps? Or will https://snapcraft.io remain the only real place for snaps?
-
snapd does not support using multiple stores. It will only obtain verified snaps from store.snapcraft.io.

Sorry - I was mistaken - I did not mean to provide incorrect info.

uApp Explorer was down with an error and I brought it back up again. But it should probably be shutdown and direct everyone to either the OpenStore for click apps or the Snap store for snaps as it is a bit redundant now. To clear up some confusion, uApp Explorer doesn't host any of the clicks/snaps it provides. It showed apps from the Canonical app store back in the day (which is why you can find older apps that doen't exist on the OpenStore), the snap store, and eventually the OpenStore. I also want to note that while I'm now the main developer for the OpenStore it was all started by Michael Zanetti before UBports took over the development of Ubuntu Touch (so a huge thanks to him for getting it started!).
