Telegram app does not download files/photos anymore

The Telegram app 2.5.5.0 does not download fotos anymor, it only shows a small bubble. The same is true for the command line tg-cli client used outside of UBports. There it gives an error message:
FAIL: 92: RPC_CALL_FAIL 400: FILEREF_UPGRADE_NEEDED

Telegram is no more maintained.
TELEports is develloped now with the aim to replace it totally. -

Magically both, the old Canonical tg app and tg-cli, started working again downloading files and photos. Don't know why, but they do work again. Fine.
