Best UT apps
-
Hello, I'm new to UT; finally got it running today! I'm trying to figure out what are the best, private, and secure apps to install. I need a password manager, email client, maps, and open to other suggestions. As soon as I get a sim adapter tomorrow this will replace my pixel 4XL as my daily driver. So happy to finally be google free!

So dekko2 needs full system access so that worries me.
-
Also, why do you need those other two apps to use pure maps?
-
I have the lib rem tunnel for Vpn. Does that Vpn app make it easier to connect to it too? I cannot figure out how to get my Vpn connected.

That should not, it's done by trusted devs.

Just use uNav, it's the historical UTouch GPS app and work with itself.
-
The uadblocker wants access to my system too. how is that safe?
-
When you look at the apps in the store it warns about full system access. It says it for dekko2 and uadblock
-
@Headgas Try these the second one is easier.

Yes it warms, it's to inform you, so that if you don't want an app to have full access, you don't install it.
BUT that ddoesn't mean this app will immediatly brake your system OR steal data from you, that just tell you that, in order to work properly, and make what it's designed to do, it NEEDS full access. Those kind of apps MUST be open source to be published, and are manually reviewed by owners of open store.
-
@Headgas That is a general warning that needs to be in place to remind people to take care. Those apps have been checked and the developers in the case of those apps are well-known and trusted. So the risk is there in theory but not in reality.
Another similar app that many think is vital is the same and needs full access to do what it does and that is UT TweakTool. -
Uadblock wants a password to start... but it doesn't have an option to create an account or anything.
-
That's device password, you must set it in the settings (lockscreen). It's not an external account.
-
Also what can you do with tweak tool?
