Dekko 2

@Headgas I think it comes from this app:
https://open-store.io/app/indicator-weather.bhdouglass
But we might be off topic tho...
-
OK I got it. Do I need a different weather app for it to work? I just have the one that came with the os, and it doesn't show up at all.
-
@Headgas Weather Indicator in OpenStore but getting OT from Dekko now.
-
I got the app but its not working. How do you get it to work ? what is ot ?
-
@Headgas OT is Of Topic. You started this thread on dekko and now it is going OT for that thread by moving to weather indicator.
As a last comment on weather indicator in this thread, full instructions are in the app info in the OpenStore. You basically need an Openweather or Dark Sky account for it to work. -
Dekko is a challenge to make it fully functional and now yet. Thanks to all the workers on it for the latest update 0.2.3 which make dekko better : already downloaded almost 800 times: that alone says what the user expects in his phone !

Installed Ubuntu Touch on a Oneplus 5T today. Main reason to switch to UT is to move away from the mainstream OS's.
I noticed that there's no email client pre-installed. Before going an alternative route (Thunderbird?) I decided to do a search and learned that Dekko is the only native email client for UT and Dekko 2 is in the works.
Not sure if this is the right thread to ask for the Dekko 2 status as there are so many threads re Dekko.
Coming from Windows 10 Mobile I was looking for a Outlook-ish application (merging multiple accounts). I'm not yet into command lines, packages, or any other Linux experience. Not tech savvy either but I really like UT and would like to gradually learn how to improve the phone once it is fully set up with the basic/essential applications, I do consider a good email client to be one of them.
English is not my native language therefore I hope someone will be able to summarize the current status of Dekko 2 - in comprehensive and non-technical way - for me and other newcomers to understand why, how and when to start using Dekko 2. If not ready for newbies in the coming weeks (relative I know) what alternative email client to consider in the meantime?
Thank you
-
@3T_Ed - Dekko 2 is working well for me, although it has a few bugs still. Sometimes you need to restart it after a display error, but otherwise if you take time to make sure the settings for each account are correct it will work well.
Best regards,

@3T_Ed I use Dekko and nowDekko2 without important issue since 2015.
If you need an alternative, you can also use an web email service like protonmail.com and get direct access to it on your UT device via webber: https://open-store.io/app/webber.timsueberkrueb.
It works well enough for me. -
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on Dekko (2). Just created my account and folder structure in Derek 2 and I'm impressed by how intuitive it is and very fast. Looking forward to using this client on a daily basis and improvements to come. Thanks to devs, this is certainly worth donating (and waiting) for.
Cheers!
