Re: Installing UBports on a Nexus 5
I just installed on a Nexus 5 a few days ago. It is the D820. Everything seems to work ok (Calls,bluetooth,wifi..) except for the camera. Actually it might be the included media player. I can create a video, which is an MP4 format, but the media player doesn't recognize it. I am able to view my videos using the OpenStore app "UTmedia".
        I hope this helps.

There is a hope that this issue will be fixed using the halium version for the N5.

@mnjrupp Detailed workaround (Nexus 5): 1) Open UTmedia 2) Tap and hold "Select file" till a popup shows "select all / close" 3) click on "close". 4) Click "select file" again 5) Browse on "files" and select the required video to play 6) Video is successfully loaded in UTmedia and can be played!

Funny, I can't film at all. I get an error message if I try to. it generates mp4 videos too that I can't read.
nexus 5 with Stable on it.

@Rebecca58 You must use UTMedia exactly as Stanwood described in the post above yours or it won't work.

@rocket2nfinity I get this error message:
Media error. formats not supported or sources not found.

                        Download File: file:///opt/click.ubuntu.com/utmedia.nfsprodriver/0.14/www/index.html

@Rebecca58 I'd first try to re-install UTMedia from the openstore. If that doesn't work, file a bug report and let the devs look at it. Something seems to be missing.

The problem is that the GPU does not work.
So UTmedia uses the CPU to play videos ; your video is probably too high res for the CPU and causes the freezes.

As stated before, a good chance is that it will be solved with the halium port for the Nexus5.

@rocket2nfinity I see... I'm presently using my other phone to wats videos offline.
I don't have this problem when I watch online.
