@Lakota I do, with the calendar app and it works well. I created a Owncloud server on a computer, with calendars. For files, it should work also, but I never try.

@cherrie Do you think owncloud or nextcloud is better, and why?

EDIT: I should add that i think that answer from any user would be very interesting. 🙂

When you say server at home, I take it this is any PC or laptop with the file on you want access too. This server then needs to be on all the time to get access remotely to the files. This is the issue I have I don't leave things switched on with access to the internet when away from home, which is why I'm using drop box which I can only access through the browser on ubports.

When I looked into this I to took it that I needed to leave a server on all the time, which I did not like the idea of. I use Mega at home with my Ubuntu machine. It works well and give 50gb of online storage. Last time I looked there was an option to download this for our os. Not used it though.

@Bastos I don't remember since when I started to use owncloud on my devices... about a few month maybe. I remember that, for me, it worked with owncloud but not with nextcloud. I have added my config to your topic : https://forums.ubports.com/post/4048

The Mega app only allowed viewing and uploading I think. You could not download from it. Nor could you do that via the Mega website using Ubuntu Browser (or at least I could never get it to work). At the moment I'm using Dropbox on the Browser. It works although often tells me to upgrade my browser.

Thanks All for the info. Having looked at everything I think for now I'll stick with what I've got until things settle down abit.
