I don't think we need to be too concerned about our ranking on Distrowatch. It's extremely subjective and seems pretty easy to game. "Number of page hits" isn't a good metric for much of anything.

I agree it's not an especially significant ranking, and I also agree that it's not something to try to game by changing anything about what the project does. The page ranking does attract eyeballs though, as does the site in general, so I hope they will cover major news and big releases.

I know it's not the be-all-and-end-all, @UniSuperBox, but I just, desperately, want to see this beautiful OS granted the recognition and attention is so rightly deserves.

@3arn0wl a big step for consecration of UT is when MIR will be fully implemented and operational, with all improvements linked, i think. So probably/certainly for OTA 9 i(we) hope (all).

Truth is: UT is pretty damn good now.

UBports Ubuntu Touch makes its comeback in the top 100 (at rank 99 today) of the Distrowatch ranking over 6 months after having already appeared there a few weeks in late 2018 / early 2019: https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubports

Exactly, the ranking change continuously and the news updates are frequent but does not change the editing date of the project description.
