Would it be possible for the person in charge of managing UBports accounts on Liberay to take care of setting up translations?
I have contributed a translation in French but it has not been added to Liberapay.

Marius mentioned he documented how to build the Lomiri stack in the last Q&A. Are those notes available somewhere already?

The latest stable pinephone image is from 2020-09-18. When is the release candidate reaching stable?

I see few question for this Q&A so I'll do more questions... feel free not to answer them all 😉

with the removal of Oxide in the OTA 16 you said in the past the system image size will be lightened.
Q1: how many megabytes will be saved?
Q2: are you going to fill (part of) the saved space with something else or for the moment are you simply aiming to distribute lighter system images.

With the upgrade from Qt 5.9 to 5.12 we are a step closer to the transition from 16.04 to a 20.04 base.
Q3: what remains to be done to make the switch?
Q4: is the switch from upstart to Systemd one of these steps?
Q5: will be there devices that will not support the newer kernel (and/or init system)? what will happen to them?

I've always been curious to understand what steps are required when porting an app to new libraries or a system from one kernel to another
Q6: can you please describe us how the transition from a base to the next takes place, or pointing us to an explicative documentation/howto?
Q7: is there anything a community of ordinary users (non-programmers) can do during this process to help?

ps: I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

How many people are working on Ubuntu Touch full time and who are those?

With the upcoming Qt5.12, will UT support the official Python bindings ( Pyside2 )

Which device and how would be the best way to test the convergence feature?

QUESTION: with the pinephones new keyboard annoncement, they stated that developers will get an early version in janurary, so that the hardware enablement can happen.

How many developers are getting the keyboard in janurary for the pinephone, and will having the keyboard on the actual device help with furter development of the pinephone ubuntu image?
Marius Gripsgard stated on twitter that the keyboard on the fxtec helped for quicked debugging n stuff.

                            Thank

                            Also, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

If time allows (given the philosophical and more general nature).

As an end user I'm more and more confronted with semi-necessary apps that I can't install on my smartphone (as they are only available for the two mobile OS'es the world seems to know about). It used to be only Whatsapp, and I actually owe UT a debt of gratitude for that, but now I also note increased pressure from utility providers (banks, phone, insurance, electricity) to make use of their dedicated apps. The recent state developed Covid-19 tracking apps could be another example.

How do you experience this? Have you already persuaded some business app developers to open up to UT? And are there reasons to hope for a more UT friendly app future (~ increasing mobile Linux user base, converging app development technologies,...)?
