Please vote on all OpenStore apps that you install on UT!
-
Hi.
This is just a shout-out to encourage folk to vote (and preferably also comment) on all apps that they install on UT from https://open-store.io. You can log into OpenStore from your smartphone via a GitHub/GitLab/Ubuntu One account.
The voting options are [see attached image]. If anyone would like to elaborate on their meaning, please do so. I take them to mean: Love, Like, Neutral, Dislike, Bug(s)
I think the votes and comments would be of great value to the devs.
Thanks.

@opolork Just to add, if there are bugs you want to report, don't just put them in the review/comment, kindly use the report a bug link or email the developer link in the openstore or in the app itself, to report such bugs. Developers doesn't always see the reviews in the store.
-
Not only that, but reviews are forever, while bugs can be fixed. The review would then remain and give a false impression of the current state of affairs.

but reviews are forever
Anyone can update his review in the OpenStore when a commented issue is fixed.
-
Nexus 4. Signed up a while back so I signed in... but I can't rate anything!
-
@opolork That's right, but it would also be interesting for voters to go to the repositories (github or gitlab, most often) to see if an issue is not already open before giving a sharp criticism.
-
@domubpkm Yeah but I would guess only 1% does that
I think it's fine to review asbug
if the app is really buggy and unusable but it there are a couple of bugs, it's better to file them in their repo. -
@opolork Is there a way to follow up with people who leave comments (and don't report issues or email the developer)?
-
@kugiigi Good point.
-
@arubislander It'd be great if the reviews had date stamps.
-
@domubpkm +1
-
@totalrando Did you scroll down and click on the right hand part with reviews?
-
@domubpkm Fair enough.
-
@kugiigi Indeed.
-
@boogaloo Sorry, I don't know.
-
I would be happy to comment on applications if there was an easy way to do so, however Github and Gitlab are incomprehensible labyrinths to me.
-
@opolork They do already. Not sure if they're updated when the review was edited though.
@cliffcoggin It's simple to create accounts in Github and Gitlab. You don't need to understand how it works for developers if you are not. This way, you can also help the developers for logging, confirming and investigating issues.
-
@cliffcoggin You can just leave a comment on the https://open-store.io app instead.
-
@kugiigi Under the 'Reviews' section, I see comments but no dates.
-
@opolork You must ALSO have a Github or Gitlab account to review an app on the OpenStore !
