Need testers Home Screen for Ubuntu Touch

@keneda
"my background is the same between uHome and uTouch"This version of the UHome app has the permission to read the user's wallpaper. The final version of this feature will not be able to.
"/var/lib/AccountsService/users/phablet"
/var/lib/lightdm-data/phablet/ubuntu-system-settings/Pictures/"
perrmission to be removed
But don't worry, you can add your own wallpapers via the Content Hub."isn't it possible if you host the wallpaper in your app folder?"
Yes it possible for programm, but don't possible for me. I'm not a professional artist, I'm not a professional photographer, I'm just a programmer. Without the perrmission to read the standard uToch wallpaper, you end up with a black screen.
in final version read this folder perrmission to be removed
"/usr/share/backgrounds/"
But don't worry, and thanks to everyone for your help! A very beautiful surprise awaits us in the final version"the widget colors settings not reseted each time you open the color to choose."
uToch does not contain a color selection dialog. I am using ColorPicker from @rshest. it does not support this function.
But don't worry, I am developing my ColorDialog and it may be included in the final release. -

If someone wants the same wallpaper as uTouch core OS one, he just has to use file explorer and then copy/paste one to your app dedicated wallpaper folder .
And if you need a default custom one, lot of people here can help you make/find one (open source of course), and even, you can yourself copy the uTouch default one(s) to past in app wallpaper folder, they are open-source after all ^^

"you can yourself copy the uTouch default one(s) to past in app wallpaper folder, they are open-source after all ^^"
No, can't. Each image has its own copyright. Photo contributors have submitted these images for use by uToch, but not for uHome. The only way to use them is if the user has chosen them to be displayed as the desktop wallpaper. -

Yes I know. This is a very beautiful surprise, which you will learn about very soon. -
@pavelprosto
Ahh... i though all in uTouch OS was open-source (like in or equal to GNU GPLv3)...Anyway, a community one or even a find on web one can make it... https://wallpapercave.com/open-source-wallpapers
https://wallpapercave.com/search?q=ubuntuhttps://www.qwant.com/?client=qwant-firefox&q=open+source+wallpaper&t=web
I say it again, that's not a problem to not be able to use the uTouch wallpaper folder ^^

Hi @pavelprosto Thank you for the last uVideo update and your uHome link. Just to say that there isn't icon by default for uVideo on uHome even if uVideo link works and we can install an icon by editing uHome. I don't open a new uVideo 'issue'..
-
Because the new version of uHome will hit the open-store this weekend
-
https://open-store.io/app/uhome.pavelprosto
uHome is published in the open-store
It was a very long and difficult journey. Thank you all for your tremendous support!
I leave this topic for testing new beta versions and finding bugs -
@pavelprosto Thanks again for your useful great work. Nice surprise to be able to alternate background images and import personal images: the latter cannot be removed directly from the list I think (unless we do it through the cache).
Would it be possible for fun to 'play' a gif format in the background, as it installs without playing?
Personally, what I miss is only Dekko. -
@pavelprosto
Great the new color picker for widgets ! -
I was unable to shut down or restart my BQ E5 HD through the Shutdown window : buttons frozen. I had to do a forced shutdown.
I would advise to completely erase the uHome and Weather widget apps installed by the forum, as well as the config data cache of these apps, and then install the official versions from the Openstore.
Or if you have already installed over the two apps of the forum those of the Openstore, do the same : delete all as said and install again from the Openstore : i did that and It seems to have solved the problem of no shutdown for me.

I had the same problem on Nexus 5 using the application from the Open Store. Even after removing Home I still needed to force a shutdown to restore normal operation.
-
I had no problem.
I did like @domubpkm describes using UTTT and all fine.
-
@cliffcoggin I have rephrased more clearly
-
@domubpkm Re-installing did the trick, thank you. I can now switch off normally.
I note that on re-installation my previous settings for the Home application still existed so app removal can not have been as complete as I expected.
-
@pavelprosto Are you planing to turn uhome into a real dash alternative in the future? Maybe with a similar approach like LauncherModular?
-
@domubpkm
I forgot to add a button to remove custom wallpaper! I will definitely do this in the next update.
I have not forgotten about live wallpapers and I am thinking about it. I have a couple of ideas and ways to implement this.
About Dekko, I really love this email client too. Unfortunately I cannot implement a widget for it, uHome's permission are very very limited.
But it can be implemented by the Dekko programmer. His application can interact with my desktop and I will be happy to help him with this. -
@domubpkm Yes! You did the right thing!
When you install an application directly or through the open-store. They are saved in different ways in the system.
Therefore, it is important to first uninstall the beta version and then install from the Open Store so that there is no conflict of installations.
For example, only an application from the Open Store can go to sleep.
So now uHome is also more economical in terms of phone resources. -
@aarontheissueguy Of course, I would like to become the default application)
The application will expand, I will add its API. In the near future I will update the API in GitHub so that the developers know how to interact with it and what functions are there. -
@cliffcoggin If anyone has such a problem, it is a conflict between installing directly from the directory and the open-store.
- Delete uHome.
- Delete 3 directories
/home/phablet/.cache/uhome.pavelprosto/
/home/phablet/.local/share/uhome.pavelprosto/
/home/phablet/.config/uhome.pavelprosto/ - Install uHome from open-store
- If the application displays an inscription, "I cannot create a cache",
do not panic. Run the application again and everything should work.
I can only guess where this problem comes from. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the final version was compiled on the new version of clickable
