[SOLVED] Message App broken with UT v101 on rc channel
-
Back to stable fixes issues with messages app. I might have a go at Dev channel later...
-
I can confirm the behavior witnessed by @truscellino
I also had the upgrade to V101 on my N5, the messaging app was quite long to start.
No history present.
I was unable to send an SMS but no crash for me.
I received 2 messages, I was able to see them in the notification tray but unable to see them in the app.I'm back to stable and my history is back too but no trace of the received messages while with RC 101.
@truscellino have you created or searched for an issue in gitlab ?
-
@applee no but I am happy to do that. I wasn't sure about bug reports for non-stable versions. Thanks.
-
I can't see corresponding bug reports on ubport's Gitlab but... the messages app doesn't seem to live there either? Neither in "core" nor in "apps"... I am puzzled.
-
@truscellino bug reports are on github : https://github.com/ubports/messaging-app/issues
-
@domubpkm Yes thank you, I just realised... I don't really understand the split between gitlab and github, but I will get to the latter in this instance.

Issue opened on Github:
Message App broken as in Ubuntu Touch 101 from rc channel -

Yes me too, but the migration from github to gitlab is a long way
-
@truscellino humm, i'm on devel, and no issues so far on hammerhead . I wonder how RC been updated since it should be the same as stable now (OTA-17)
-
@lduboeuf
RC 100 was the same as stable.I was in fact surprised by RC 101 popping up this morning and tried it out.
-
Just thought Id comment to day that I updated to devel this morning and the message app did the same thing for me, switched to RC, no difference, switched to stable and I can use the messaging app, Im using the OP3
-
@phoenixlandpirat Mine is fine on 357dev. All a bit odd.
-
@lakotaubp that is odd cos it was defo the same release as yours.
-
Actually, in Settings, in the Recent Updates List, it is version 100 that I downloaded and istalled on May 19th...
-
I think they found the cause and bug is closed on Github. That was quick
-
I just installed update on RC channel (v102) and after update there are no messages shown, when running the
messaging-app
. I reverted to stable channel (v15) and the messages are there again. Saying just for record. -
Yes we introduced a problem with a db migration here, you could switch to devel, and try if that works already.
