Camera issues

@stanwood Apparantly it works on the front camera?
So the zoom/video issues are on the back camera... -
@jan-ops79 On RN7 indeed. Maybe try on your A2....
-
@stanwood same on my A2
-
@jan-ops79 Try switching to devel update channel and see if it works, if it does not please let me know.
-
@shouko That would be a pretty good new indeed!!
-
@shouko Hi I switched to devel version and the situation stays the same. Maybe it is an app issue?
-
@jan-ops79 Today I installed succesfully UT on my new Mi A2. The weird thing is that afetr installation I took a perfect video. But thereafter it was broken like it's described here...
-
First of all - set camera resolution to 4:2 or 4:3. After that switch to video and give it a try.

@c4pp4 Thanks a lot - this did the trick ... - how did you know?

@c4pp4 The cameras behaviour is getting worse and worse. I can only take two or three pictures before the app freezes. I have to restart the system to get the camera working again.
Someone's got an idea how to solve this, any tricks or workarounds out there?
Best regards and a happy new year to everybody! -
@messayisto I know of a similar and never fixed behaviour on Meizu MX4 when taking HDR pictures https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/camera-app/+bug/1537774 - that's a terrible experience indeed (sharing just because it rings the bell and perhaps is a similar issue here).
Anyway, I am looking forward to finally getting rid of that obsolete paperweight and to flashing Redmi Note 9 Pro once I can unlock the bootloader and trying UT and especially camera out there :).

This paperweight is still one of, if not the best device, and one of the most well (fully) supported.
I don't think any recent phone has the same level of support and stability...
Yes, HDR camera issue is annoying, but it's one of the only issues this phone has... -
@keneda Well, the camera quality is overall quite bad :(. The fact my MX4 only has 16GB of storage doesn't improve things and I am also missing Waydroid (currently using PinePhone with Manjaro for that) because for reasons beyond my comprehension you can't live without iOS or Android apps in some countries :(. I would again need to replace the battery (I have done that at least 3 times since I had the phone already) as it is starting to feel like a PinePhone now not lasting for a reasonable time and I am still facing these crashes very often. And on top of that I expect Ubuntu 20.04 is not going to be available on MX4 either, albeit the kernel might be able to fullfil the requirements as it can also run Anbox.
I wanted to wait for some special new device, have been doing so for the past 2 years at least, but unfortunately there is still nothing that I would love and Redmi Note 9 Pro is still purchasable and seems to have quite decent support. So it caught my eye and persuaded me to try that one out :).
