File manager app shows blank screen
-
@colinw
No problem on MX4. -
@colinw You normally have to put in the same code as to unlock the phone and yes you should see a permissions box. TRy checking for updates, switching on dev mode (if not done) and restarting.

@lakotaubp
Well unlock code is for accessing folders that are outside user space and normally hidden, but he can't access anything as he gets a blank screen, he can't even see download, pictured, music, etc... -
@colinw
Homescreen of the app should be like this : https://forums.ubports.com/assets/uploads/files/1625126552102-screenshot20210701_100055141.pngGreen button is for unlocking restricted files access with code input dialog box.
Maybe you can try reinstalling uTouch as the app is part of the system you can't reinstall only it.
Or you can first try to delete all app data (not the app itself !) using Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool from openstore.

@keneda funnily enough the tweak tool is another app that just launches to a blank screen for me.
Thanks for your suggestions, think I'll try and re-install OS as I only got the 6T yesterday so probably missed a step on the initial install.

Something tells me i could bet that terminal app give you same result ?
-
@keneda Who was the guy that had the idea to add a senseless GUI? uhm
-
@keneda Every app bar the File Manager and Ubuntu Tweak Tool are working fine for me.
-
@colinw I have a feeling you are on an outdated version. Try updating or if you're on devel, perhaps a regression. Try switching to rc or stable.
-
@kugiigi I was. I had installed UT via the instructions on the Oneplus 6 port's github instead of the UBports Installer (as it had failed multiple times). Just re-ran with the 0.8.9-beta release of the UBports Installer and it's all working!

@colinw Good news. Please mark as solved https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6311/how-to-ask-a-question-and-then-mark-it-as-solved/1

Another issue my end, I don't seem to be able to mark the topic as solved. I can only delete and 'ask a question'.

@colinw
You have to ask a question before marking it as solved...
