        @redxxiii Got it! ๐Ÿ™‚

How can you trust that an app really won't send some company your location data, when you tell it not to? The only way you can trust a program not to do something it isn't supposed to do is if it is free software. ~ RMS

@keneda 'Reset Launcher' or 'Erase & Reset All'?

@opolork the first is just to put back the launcher to defaults in the case you made too much tweaks on it. The second is the one I talk about. It will wipe all your data and make a fresh install of UT. The install will be based on the current channel you have. So halium-devel in your case.

@redxxiii Damn, that sounds like too much trouble. I think I'll just change the update channel back to stable instead.

I don't fancy having to take ages re-setting up everything again.

I changed back to the Stable channel, rebooted, checked the channel again and it reverts to halium-dev.

@opolork I have experienced this bug too. Sometimes it can be overcome with patience... or a reset... But maybe someone better than me could give good tips about that.

@redxxiii I was able to change to the Development channel. It remained. The camera is working again (no flash). Torch still the same. When I select shutdown, it does not reboot. So I'm back to where I was with the Stable channel. I just hope things are not too unstable being on the Development channel. :light_bulb: ๐Ÿ™‚

@opolork ok great. Maybe you could switch to rc or stable later. Do not expect the flash to work. It will only be the case in halium devel if i m not wrong. By the way you can also join the Fairphone + Ubuntu Touch group on telegram. Cheers.

I'll stick with the Dev channel for now. I presume nothing will go horribly wrong.

Is this (https://t.me/ubports) the Ubuntu Touch Telegram you refer to? I'm already on that.

                          What's the Fairphone Telegram Group?

                          Thanks.

In case something goes horribly enough then you can try to switch back to RC.
If it doesn't work because of the horribly wrong event, then run the installer WITHOUT checking the wipe data and you should be fine.

I did another update. It updated and then prompted me to reboot. It then got stuck in the reboot stage. Holding in the power button only made it reboot and then hang again in the reboot stage.

I had to remove the battery to power it off.

I guess, I'll have to install Stable again with the installer (wipe disabled). No other way back?

                                  That's weird...
Devel will propose you a daily update and some are safer than other...
But hanging during the boot is a bad sign, while booting you should have a yumi notifying the installation in progress.

My guess is there is a corrupted file somewhere and that could be a sign of eMMC dying.
On the other hand, FP2 is modular and some bad connection can be the cause of many issues.

To answer your question, I guess using the installer is the fastest and easiest way to set your phone up and running again.

I can get to recovery mode via holding down power & volume up buttons.
                                          I get these options:

                                          • Reboot system now

                                              Yes.
The user data partition is separated from the OS.
So when reinstalling without the "wipe data" option, it keeps all your personal data and apps.

Of course if some app is not compatible between versions it might not work anymore, but that won't probably be the case for you if you're on a current version based on 16.04.
