At this point, I have never needed to use video calls for private purposes and with UT.
But, just in case, I'd like to know the good solution(s) currently usable privately with UT, now that the camera can be activated through the browser. Webber could also be used to build a useful webapp.
What interesting and secure websites (no UT app work for that currently, isn't it ?) have you tested with UT for video calls ?
        Thanks for your insight.

@domubpkm I have tried Jitsi in the browser, and it seemed to work fine.

@domubpkm You can always make a site into a webapp. Currently I use the Element webapp (app.element.io) and tested video calling on it today. (I use it sideways to get max usability out of it). Works great.

@totalrando Element not working on OP5 can't scroll to video call option with webapp, morph or WayDroid version.

Edit: Keeping in mind I do not make video calls
@TotalRando Do you need an account for video calls on element
@Moem Was this from a jitsi desktop to a phone or phone to phone. I can only find a download for jitsi desktop. Just trying to work out how easy this is to use for people at this stage.

                No. 😉
I just went to the Jitsi website and opened a room to see whether it would see my camera and pick up my mic, and it did.
Jitsi can be used inside the browser, without installing anything.

@domubpkm - https://whereby.com works well in my tests, and is a privacy respecting FOSS service as a plus.

@lakotaubp On Element you need a Matrix account. You also need a sufficiently sized screen or to hold it sideways. Once you are in an Element chat the video and phone options are on the top right.

@domubpkm right now there is a skype webapp available in the OpenStore. It does work quite well. Give it a try. Skype has one big advantage over other video-messengers since it is available for every platform, intel, arm, windows, ios, smartphone and desktop. And now on ubuntu touch.

https://open-store.io/app/zwebtelegram.josele13 or a Webber webapp telegram z should be a good answer but i haven't tried yet.
Hello @bhdouglass . Why this webapp isn't seen (on Volla only ?) on the line of new or updated apps of OpenStore.click ?

@domubpkm webapps won't show in the new/update app list on the front page of the OpenStore app. But you can still find it if you browse or search for the app.

                          open-store.io && bhdouglass.com

Yes i know, that's why i was surprised not to see this usefull webapp in the new/update list.
