USA-5G & VoLTE work fine with UT devices
-
Useing OPO, Pixel 3a and Xperia X the changes are positive. Better clarity with calls in and out, messanging and internet work well, and so far no complaints from Tracfone or AT&T. Also, to achieve this the Anntlent signal booster must be powered up. Expensive but much better than Android or Apple. So far so good.
EDIT: No problems with internet or messages if I still have data left to use. Oops. -
@farmer - sorry, maybe your post is not worded as you wished, but you are providing misinformation here. OPO, Pixel 3a and Xperia X on UT does NOT have support for VoLTE. While these devices (and the other UT devices) can still use 3G on T-Mobile in the USA to send and receive calls, this ability will end on July 1, 2022.

@farmer - LTE mobile data for UT devices works and will continue to work on both AT&T and T-Mobile networks though.

I agree with @TotalSonic a level of clarification is needed. Non of those devices are 5G capable.
-
@totalsonic I think he talks about this
-
@josele13
That doesn't make those devices 5G or VoLTE complient.
It's only a signal booster for 2/3/4G. -
@keneda might be interesting if the booster is doing the volte communication, but the rebroadcasting to the phone
-
@mateo_salta
I agree but i didn't see such a feature on their site.
Plus it only works at home or in your car so that really is for particular uses. -
@totalsonic Didn't know about the July 1st thing. I believe that the booster acts as a proxy server. I do know that without it calls in or out do not work.
Edited my first post.EDIT: AT&T 3G shut down Feb 22
T-Mobile will shut 3G down July 1st and Verizon probably in Dec.EDIT: 3/6/22 OPO sim disabled. XperiaX and Pixel 3a still good.
EDIT: 3/15/22. No more calls in or out Pixel 3a or Xperia X. So much for high hopes.
