He asked to @Lakotaubp about his post on wifi and APN i believe ^^
-
@rudi-timmer I have it installed and I'm looking forward to it being continued.
-
@keneda Oh i see dont know that sorry
-
@carrabelloy The first time I set uo wifi it would not connect after setup. Reran the installer and setup again with same details and it worked. There is a bug that can cause the first setup not to work.
As for APN settings for mobile data check that the correct ones are being used. I use a Plusnet sim in UK but it pulls Orange apn settings and not EE which is what I need. Just thought you might have a similar issue. -
@keneda Neither W-Lan nor internet is running, so mobiles aren't either. Although I installed it twice and tried everything. I just don't know how to delete W-Lan, how that should work.
-
@lakotaubp It seems it act on diffrent devices into a other way as i dont had that i got afther my installation directly my wifi and got connected from the first time.... seems wierd acting on some devices it seems...
-
@carrabelloy If you go into System Settings, Wifi, Select your network (or it may be under Previous networks) Then Forget Network. Switch off and restart then entre details again it should work. There is also this group https://t.me/ut_on_fp4 for help and testing.
-
@lakotaubp It's empty, so I know what's going on with wifi and how I'm supposed to turn it off, it's not like my old cell phone that can be turned off. Come from Germany
-
@lakotaubp Unfortunately, the modem does not work or the certificate is not available in the settings because it was not installed. I don't know why the whole thing can be installed for me, but the most important thing is missing.
-
The Fairphone 4 has almost everything to become a very good UT smartphone in short/medium term because my feeling is that the team of developers behind it is very motivated to make it that way.
-
@domubpkm Indeed that's true
-
Agree with you. Hope, to me, some improvements will come quickly, like waydroid or support of esim too
-
I wish Fairphone also becomes available in other regions. I'm still looking for a long term UT main phone. My Xperia X's RAM can't hold up with my usage anymore And my Fxtec Pro1-X purchase seems to be a big mistake

I won't say 'a mistake' but a 'bet' at the moment T with that part of uncertainty. Potentially, it's true that the Fairphone 4 inspires confidence as well as the Volla range developed by Hallo Welt System (actively supported by UBports of course).
-
You can't find it on ebay ?
-
@jukebox3711 I don't use ebay and I don't even know if it's available in my country Also, I don't have money anymore, maybe I'll sell my Pro1-X but let's see.
-
The in call sound issue has been fixed
-
@lakotaubp Thank you a lot! This port is wonderful, it works almost everything!
It's my first Ubuntu Touch experience, so I'm not sure how to upgrade (will I receive an OTA upgrade or should I use the ubports-installer again?).
EDIT: Never mind, just received an OTA. This is WONDERFUL. I confirm call audio is working.Besides the audio call problem, I found the fingerprint sensor not working (not a big deal). Everything else is working: GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth audio (tested with Fairphone Earbuds), tethering and so on.
All the 3 cameras are recognized in the browser and are working fine. Unfortunately the Ubuntu Touch Camera app doesn't support the double back camera and uses only the primary (i think it should be trivial to implement a dropdown showing all the cameras like in the browser at this point). Also, I'd like to send a little donation, do you accept ko-fi, paypal or other means?
Thank you very much for your work!
