If UT was made for "power users and developers" I would get rid of it instantly. I am a normal user having no interest in tweaking a phone or fiddling with Lomiri etc. All I want is a phone that works without any intervention by me.

And you are very much not alone in that. Some of us casual users really don't want Android or iPhones!

It's just a simple script that can replace and restore system files. Most of my packages deal with QML files but I've also tried other things like config files.
My main hacks right now is for Lomiri and the OSK.

@developerbayman You are clearly very keen on inproving UT, so why not join the developer team which is crying out for qualified members to contribute to the system. You would then get a clearer idea of the principles on which Ubuntu Touch is built, and some of the constraints imposed by those principles.

@keneda I think it's doing too much to the system that I don't want it to be available just to anyone. Although it's generally safe, because I use and test it on my main phone
, it can still break your system.
But if anyone wants to create, I won't stop them. I'm also not sure though if it can even be approved in the store. -

i have almost finished a new android app for use in waydroid to access UBports forum fixing some things like copy paste,file upload,
also im waiting to get my server back up because we are clustering i was going to implement a UBports zoom conference system into the app
then i was going to release it on here.....also thinking about hosting a UBports excluseive to waydroid app store ......idk bout the last one id prob take a vote i feel f-droid,apkpure ect feel a little spammy to me
so iv chosen to adopt this community so i would like to see us have nice things

@developerbayman OTA updates are delta-based, so if they break your system is then hit-or-miss, if UT changed something that you also changed with apt or by editing it manually it will get overwritten/erased by an OTA delta eventually. But if that happens simply switch channels back or forth, or reinstall with the instsaller to get a full wipe, and you are back in business.
Its really not easy to break a UT install, in contrast to a desktop PC. And thats the beauty of all those restrictions, they keep you afloat as long as possible.

Iv been off UT for a day or so messing with my orange pi but i think im gonna try installing plasma mobile .....https://plasma-mobile.org/ would be sweet if it worked on top of UT
