How do I set a default web browser in UT?
-
Hi.
I had to uninstall Onion Browser as it opened linked in SMS messages when I wanted the links opened with Sapot Browser. Where's the setting to make Sapot the default?
Thanks.

@Opolork There is no such setting. The concept of 'default application' is not something that has made it to UT as yet.

@arubislander Ok, thanks. I had to uninstall Onion Browser as a workaround.

@Opolork
I think the last installed browser is the default one that opens links.
Maybe try to uninstall Sapot, then install Onion, and lastly install Sapot. -
@Opolork IIRC for me with Sapot installed all outside links opened in Sapot not Morph anyway. It seemed to take over. Give it a try and you might have a default browser already

@Lakotaubp In my experience it is fairly random. Sapot being the default for a while then randomly Morph reverts to being the default after a reboot.

That's plain bizarre.

Not really. It could be due to how url handling registration for apps occurs. If it is something that is refreshed on every reboot, and the sequence is non-deterministic, or based on some changeable property like file timestamp (think updates), then the behaviour could be explained.

I'll leave as it is for now as I've noticed that both Onion web browsers in the OpenStore are old (so I don't want to reinstall either right now). I'll make a note of this workaround though. Cheers, my friend

Yeah it seems to be random every reboot.
You can delete the url dispatcher config of other browsers but for Morph, it's in the readonly part of the system.
