@stanwood it works on Volla? Interesting.

As far as I investigated this issue:
The prompt to allow microphone access to the app came untill a certain OTA. Then it stopped working and the prompt did not appear anymore.

On a device, where the microphone was already authorized, until the prompt stopped appearing, the app kept still working.

On any device, where the app got installed new the mic authorization prompt does not appear and the app does not work.

I am not talking of this one btw.:

@luksus Well, I just tried on Vollaphone right now (OTA-19 stable) and it worked...

            @stanwood what exactly did work?
Did you remove the app, checked in system-settings/security/app-permissions that it is not listed under microphone anymore, reinstall it and then it worked?

Volla's not exactly on the same update branch, is that right ? That would explain why it still works ! @stanwood if you can confirm it works on an (updated) nexus 5 we could safely assume it's not related to morph or Qt and is indeed a device-specific bug

@luksus I just launched the app, allow mic access and press the green bottom. It started to record normally.

What Luksus explained is that up to a certain point new app installation worked fine.
But now only previously enabled apps are working not new installation.
If you can take this risk you can try to:

                  1. Remove the app
                  2. Clean the data and cache
                  3. Reinstall the app

If Luksus is right it shouldn't work anymore for you.
@Luksus do you have any idea on what was previously done to allow the mic or are you trying to constraint the issue to some recent changes ?

@applee I see. Unfortunately Vollaphone belongs to my spouse and I don't want to mess it up... šŸ˜‰

Will try on the Nexus 5, but it's indeed annoying if it breaks the functionality.

Clean data and cache from the app with UTTT you mean ?
If yes that must be done before uninstalling as UTTT must find the app in its app list to do so.

You can also do it manually by deleting the proper directories šŸ˜‰
But yeah if you want to do it with UTTT you should definitely do it before removing the app.
